    Hi,

A few new forum features were added for both users and staff members as mentioned by @Lautaro in his latest announcement.

    http://forum.gameznetwork.com/threads/forum-maintenance-changelog-11-23-2014.184564/

These features can be useful and I would like to share how to use some of them.

    Selective Quoting
First one is selective quoting. This will be very handy for all forum users as it allows you to select a certain amount of text in any post, and quote that selection without having to edit the entire post.

How this works, select any amount of text you wish, and a small little notice will appear on your screen that says "+Quote | Reply".

    • +Quote: Adds the selection to your "insert quote" list.

    • Reply: Adds the selected text automatically to your quick reply box.

Yes you can quote the same post multiple times.

    Polls
Another interesting new addition is some poll options. Before, you had the option to either allow one vote or multivote. But no options to limit how many times you can multivote.

    Online Privacy

Before the update, You had two options when it comes to Displaying your online status. On and off.

Now, you have more options. As default, when a user views your profile popup or goes to the members online list or go to your profile, they can see your latest activity and what you are currently doing. Alot of people do not like that. So the new feature allows you to still be viewed as "Online" but remove other users from viewing what you are doing.

To find these options, you must go to your profile privacy page: http://forum.gameznetwork.com/account/privacy
The top few options will show you these.

Turning off "Show your current activity will remove your latest activity from public view.

Turning off "Show your online status" will remove you from the online members list. Staff members will still see you as online though.

As a little add-on, a new "Online now" indicator has been added to the top left of your avatar if you enabled "Show your online status.

    Enjoy.

    Kyle

Nice guide. Both of them. I was wondering why there is a profile post log now that shows you the latest profile status?

Is there a way to stop your profile posts from being public?

You can limit the amount one sees on your own profile page by going into your privacy settings.

Next to your "Inbox" you will find your "Username", click on it, then go to Privacy. Under "People who may..." you can limit your details, who can post and any other privacy things you may want to edit regarding your profile.
