IRC needs promotion :)

I think the irc server needs promotion from the forum so that more people learn about it, a sticky in anouncements may not catch much people's attention.

I think making a dismissable notice from the vbulleting admin panel with a link to this thread http://forum.gameznetwork.com/showthread.php?t=7875 might help a little.

Just because i'm alone in the gamez chanel now with someone called Fahq and i see a lot of potential in having a mirc channel to hang out and have support and so on.

 

IM THERE every day, slapping afk alente around. Cool that albull dropped in today so I could talk to him for a bit. It needs promotion, maybe a weblink also? Most of the time, its just irc staff and afk aletne in there. We need more people in there =)

 

i'd try to get this working but IRC never works and i'm too lazy to get it working.

 

Agreed, a simple section in the gamez and crystal sites with the same instructions as that post i was referring to would be nice too.

 

What I was referring to is the irc kind of embedded into the web. So it connects the network, you can choose a nickname, and talk, but you can do it on the web without having to download programs. I confirmed with irc staff that this IS possible. So I am sure they can figure something out if they tried.

I agree. I go there sometimes for help and there's like no one there...

 

Yes there's applets that can be aded to the site so people can join from there. They usually do require java installed but with firefox you even get prmpted to install it.
