Luckily, not for me. A Friend of Mine is having a huge Issue with his Computer. He gave it to his Girlfriend and she Deleted everything (On Purpose) when they Broke Up. I tried to help him but I was not able to, so I thought maybe someone here has more Experience than me and is willing to help.

    Currently, his Computer:

    1) It Won't boot Windows (Windows 7 Home Premium), it gives an error saying something like Invalid/Non System Disk, won't run the Windows 7 installation Disk either, she Deleted somehow the DVD Drivers that read the Disks I am guessing so he can't reformat his PC right now. The CD/DVD Drive won't show up in the BIOS Boot menu settings, only the Hard Drive does, I tried with my own CD/DVD Driver.

    2) It Won't read any "Images" or w/e they are called from a USB Drive that would Install windows, doesn't read the USB Storage Device which is a Plug&Play one w/o an installation Disk for it's Drivers or w/e it requires, tried with an USB Storage Stick, an External Hard Drive, etc. It wouldn't read either of them.

    3) I used his Hard Drive on my Computer and it wouldn't boot his Windows on mine either, like if they were never installed. I tried to reformat his Hard Drive using the Windows 7 Installation Disk which could run normally on my Computer but it wouldn't show his Hard Drive it in the Available Hard Drives List to install Windows on, only Mine(the one I run my Vista on) was in the list. His Hard Drive wouldn't show up in "My Computer" either, only in BIOS Boot menu settings.

    4) I tried the cmd -> D:\/s/p command, tried with every letter (except for C: which is my Hard Drive) and it would only say "The system cannot find the drive specified". We double-checked the Cables and even switched them with mine, afterall the Hard Drive DID appear in the BIOS Boot menu list where my CD/DVD Driver and Hard Drive were listed (Which I set to Boot first earlier and did not work, it simply passed it and booted the next one which was my Hard Drive, like if it did not exist or if it was an empty CD/DVD Drive)

I'm not sure if I wrote something wrong, my head is about to blow right now.. I'm super tired/sleepy, been trying for several Hours lol.
    Thanks in Advance!

p.s. Troll as much as you like, the idiot deserved it! I told him from the beginning that this Girl was crazy and he just wouldn't listen... at least she didn't stab him lol

EDIT: Just to make it clear, it is NOT the Motherboard i think, my hard drive works normally on his Computer, it's his Hard Drive that has the Problem. We changed the battery and we reset the Motherboard to it's factory settings before we try my hard drive on it too. Then again, my CD/DVD Drive does not work on his Computer, dunno why.

He wanted to sue her but the cops told him he would have to pay 100 Euros for the "Paravolo", Greece ftw... You can't even sue someone for free.

    Verdict
Slit the damn ***** throat, drink the blood to level up... Seriously.

The basic drivers of the cd/dvd are in the motherboard, the logical thing to do would be to reset the motherboard to factory settings. Usually is a physical switch in the PCB, either a button or some jumper slot that needs to be joined via a metallic tool, a screwdriver or anything, holding for ten seconds and that would be. System must be offline. Then turn on and the motherboard would start with the factory settings stored in it.

If she did something else that screwed up the motherboard, then he is pretty f.ucked up. To my knowledge. that is not the best, he would need to replace it.

We tried that too, we even changed the little round battery on the motherboard XD if it was the motherboard, it would work normally on my computer, wouldn't it? Thanks for the reply though =) It's a real Nightmare I'm telling you.

EDIT: Forgot to say, after all this we even opened the hard disk to make sure everything is in place T_T no part seemed to be missing. Everything looked normal lol
I'd say it got burnt but if it did, it wouldn't show up in the bios boot menu, would it? u.u

Gonna add it to main post.

EDIT2: Another thing that troubles me is that my hard disk works normally but my cd/dvd drive does NOT.
It's like she deleted his windows and deleted the cd/dvd driver from the motherboard, but if she only deleted his windows from the hard drive, i would be able to format it using my computer, wouldn't i be? Well I can't -.-

I just told him to buy a new Motherboard/Hard Drive and give his current to some Store that accepts Destroyed/Dld Computer Parts and uses them to make new ones lol. (Depending on how many/what Parts you give them, they give you a Discount for your Purchases) The Problem is he wants his Music/Pictures/Games(All his games' cd keys are stores in txt files, without them he can't install shiz)/etc. badly he said. He'll do his best to recover them.

EDIT: He tried chkdsk and some other stuff and it just wont read the hard drive, nothing worked.

Hmmm, as others said this might be a hardware problem. I dunno what the ***** did, but she probably inserted the hard-drive in her pussy as revenge. Perhaps she ate the cd/dvd player and placed a fake one back.

Trolls aside software problems are easier to fix trough a forum, for your hard-ware problems go to an IT store or something. But he better be prepared to pay a shitload of cash to fix his cum-du.... oh laptop.

His best bet to recover some of his stuff is to send it to a hardware professional. I can be sure he wont succeed on his own. But other than that, if the hardware is damaged there is not much to do but to get new parts. PC hardware currently is not made to be fixed.

In any case, dispose of the ***** and make it look like an accident. And hoping he learns to never trust his machine to anyone... specially girlfriends, too emotional.

I already asked a friend about the file recovery thing and she said that it's like $200 for a 100GB HD or something, my friend has 1TB HD... fml. She finally answered the phone btw and yes she admitted she kicked his computer several times, with the computer case open and she's happy about it lol, I told my friend to record the call so he's got some Proof now, still.. to sue her he has to pay 100 Euros, screw my Country -.-

Basically, I want to kill her myself because I've been trying to fix it for a whole freaking day for nothing -_______________- Thanks for all the Support guys and sorry for wasting your time.

If any Staff Member sees this, please Lock this Thread, I'm done with this Subject :| Thanks in advance.

So, it does show up in BIOS? Just reformat his drive in there, shouldn't be a problem.

Depends on your motherboard, but it does work w/ Gigabyte

well smartik would give exact answer to this but i think you should put out and put in again some kind of cell which restores bios settings so you'll be able to run boot system and make new windows installation
