soft cap is at 540 not at 440

hi guys,
I just spoke to Chloraform and he said to me that the soft cap is at 540 and not at 440 crit..

Soft cap has alway's been 440 =='.

Hard cap is somewhere around 550

Its 540 because of strike resist now . Thats the only reason. You would want around 550-600 crit. But despite that, rng is bugged as shit so who knows .

 

Isn't that due to everyone mostly having +15 gear though? Something like 130 resist from that, if it even works here.

 

So Is 550 soft cap official?

 

my reaction is that chlora has never played retail and hasnt read the retail forums or aionsource forums.

first when he went and changed a skill to a slow instead of a root when the skill itself said it imobilizes and now this?

 

Conclusion (as assassin):

1. Get crit up to 440 and next all attack
or
2. Get crit up to 550 and next all attack

so what is the best to do as assassin?

 

Whatttttttt!!!!! Now it"s 540!!!! I have to change all my manastones!!!! This really sucks!!!!

 

I am also interested in confirmation about the soft cap.

 

hmm idk about 540 now lol, well if it is i doubt i will change, atm 466 crit is serving me quite nicely i see no reason to change

440 is softcap.
However, people highly recommend to go softcap(440)+120 = 560 just beacuse of if all your gear is +15 enchanted, you'll have a 120 crit resistance.

 

dude,do u play the game based on what peoples tell u to do or based on how u want to play it?

what if their style is suicidal for u? or not ur style at all?

just try out what u want and find out what suits u best.

It all depends if crit resist works here or not. It was added in 1.9 so i'm assuming it does, but we don't know without some tests.

Having 5 pieces +10 can give you +130 resistance, and +15 will give you +195.

That means if you have 440 crit and go up against someone with all gear +15, then it's like you only have 245 crit.

 

let me explain about soft and hard crit cap
soft cap: 440 its 44% crit rate.1% crit rate for every 10 crit
hard cap: after 440 is 0.5% crit rate for every 10 points in crit. so if you have 460 crit its 45%,480 46% and so on.that is until 600.cause after 600 is 0.2% for 10 crit.
