spambots are annoying

    To all devs, CEOs, etc.

    I'm using vBulletin version 4.1.4 too and have no spambots at all.
    Maybe it will be too radical, but i'm using: reCAPTCHA+ antispam defence
    vBulletin by Akismet+common antispam (question and answer)+activation via mail
    Not sure, about 4.1.4 but you can try Spambot Posting Protection module. It really pwns! link below. good luck

    recaptcha is buggy , works sometimes with any word entered lol..
    Plus those guys are NOT bots i think. They might be normal people who advertise/spam.

    I like both , your idea and kisra's idea (manual account activation by an admin)

    they are bots :) i saw same spam @ several forums, contacted admins, IPs were same and time too. so..these are bots

    That addon wont work... Why? Because:
    1. We are on vbulletin 4.0+
    2. That mod is 3 yrs old
    3. "Last Update: 25 Dec 2008"

    Thank for the thought but it will clash with our version.
