I find your mutilation of the English language vulgar. :p

but on a serious note, Aion has a ESRB Rating of 17+. It is designed to be played by adults. If the language in game bothers you, turn on your profanity filter.

Press " O " to bring up the options window.

    Click Game Options.

In the new screen that pops up, scroll down to the bottom left side of it, and check the box next to "Profanity Filter".

Other people on this game have the right to talk how they want, and say what they want. If you find it offensive, you have the right to ignore it, or use the profanity filter to block it out.

You DO NOT have the right to censor what people say.

I personally have no issue with vulgarity. I just wanted to point out to you that, the thread title also mentioned character names and legion names. you cannot chat filter those.

    Just saying.

Ultimately it is up to the owner of the server whether or not to adjust the rules concerning in-game names. More complaints than just one would possibly persuade.

You have to understand that although the game is rated for those over 17, others (below 17) play it as well. The younger the child is, the more likely he will use improper language. Whatever it may be, from the harmless misspellings, to the curse words. It shouldn't really be that much of an issue for you, really, since you could just ignore them. I guess if you just really really AAANNNGRY you could block them? All in all I don't find the curse words so unbearable (maybe if you thought of them as flavoring words?).

Enforcing language rules, especially on an international server, is a futile effort. Best to let people talk how they wish, as long as they aren't abusive of other players.

Actually, Aion was rated T by ESRB but who doesn't know bad words when they're 13? But either way profanity is considered against the rules but isn't really enforced. I don't see why it should be unless it's used to harass someone violently.
