Why do people take the internet seriously?

some people (like me) use the internet as an escape from reality and express things they'll never do in real life. But why do people take stuff so seriously on the net, is it because they want to bring their values online where is full of trolls and miserable beings? or is it because they simply want to keep their reputation? why?

Personality problems I guess. Sure they got a job, a family, even a social life but there are people who are so attached to who they are and what they are used to that they literally apply it seriously even on the internet. Sometimes there are people who acts bad ass and talks shit to everyone but is actually a person who gets bullied at school. Therefore making his own imaginary world via the internet and pretends to be someone who he's not. I don't know really, it's like asking a hundred people about what they think of love and you get a hundred different answer. Just my opinion though.

Coz some people you build up your reputation with are always there to listen or to troll you. But what ever the case is, you still have to let your innermost feelings, ideas and mindset out on to someone out there.
