win XP & Crash with 2.6 items.pak

    one friend got crash issue when apply items.pak
    I have search all the threads about windows xp+2.6 items.pak
    I have try all the links,xml and normal
    I have try reinstall .net framework(i saw it somewhere as advice)
    I have change the data/items file and the data/usa/items file as suggested in the forum
    I have delete repair client
    I have run the .exe as admin
    I install SP3
    I repair xml file assosiation

    I tell him to kick the pc


    but still when we apply modifed item pak the game crash
    when we place the original works fine

    Thats because they havent made an Item.Pak file suitable for windows xp. Its quite annoying tbh.

    but 5 threads said about xp+2.6 working items.pak and the users say that it works........

    im running windows Xp and works fine. are you using the actual gamez.exe launcher or you using the .bat file launcher? because if your using the bat file launcher it will crash

    Hey man, that first link works perfectly fine. I just did it to my gamez aion and i am so happy now, as long as you follow her instructions you should be perfectly fine

    do I look like someone who doesnt know?I tell you that nothing work,we get error for all the items.pak and I have see a lot of people that they have the same problem

    I didnt say anything about you not knowing, Im just saying there has to be something wrong with what your doing or something wrong with all your aion files, I literally just put it in my files and it works perfect. So im sorry if i offended you or something but i was clearly just trying to tell you that i do not know your exact problem but it works fine with XP.

    Uthi items.pak should work fine.. before this, what items.pak you use that work? it might be work when you have done with all the step including reinstall net framework and please don't tell him to kick the pc :pinched:
    maybe it is the OS or XML problem itself

    the only item.pak that let the game load properly was the original...after the update we cant load the game with mod.item pak

    I understand the feeling.... The first day i updated to 2.6 i was having the same problem, I spent hours looking through the forums searching for an Items.pak that worked on XP.... In the end i got so frustrated that i gave up looking for one, But when i saw this post of yours i was glad to find that you linked me to an Items.pak that worked, And i thank you very much for this. I wish you all the best and good luck on trying to fix the problem.

    actually, I also got problem with modify items.pak since 2.5, only original items.pak don't give me error on Window XP.. but if use modify XML, i don't get any error.. try read this INFO: XML Encoding and DOM Interface Methods
    they are some guide on how to repair XML in Window XP

    xml items.pak was working for the 2.5 at the specific pc,now we cant do nothing,also what OS you got and what service pack?

    i dont know what specific items.pak use my friend but i see that was xml file,the only difference between the OS I see is the service pack so i have to try SP3

    i hope you can try to upgrade ur service pack and that might be 1 method of fixing the problem..

    we just complete the setup of the SP3,try again still the same,with 3 item pak........................any other idea?
