    They take periodic snapshots of most websites so you get to see how they looked in the past. Sometimes they don't preserve images though (to save space) so the site looks simplified (like 2011 missing banner). You will also notice that the snapshot for forums is not always perfect. 2011 and 2014 show exactly the same threads in them.

    I don't find the visible threads too reliable considering 2011 and 2014 have the exact same threads. Can't be sure what time period those were from. The other years wouldn't load the recent threads box at all.
