Sadly, that's how it works. So it's best to max out your inventory and weight limits ASAP first.
But you can buy via the pearl shop (F3) maids. Each maid lets you retrieve or deposit 1 item so you need a lots of them moving forward. (Tip though for starters, you really don't need this that much and just get a fast T8 horse with the essentials skills such as Drift, Sprint and Instant Accel, at least those 3... so you can easily move around areas, not to mention you can type .rescue and it lets you teleport to Olivia.)

Your workers need Beer, you can buy in MP if someone spams there or just simply make one yourself.
