Unfortunately, there is no cure for either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. However there are ways to live a full and healthy life while managing the disease, it doesn't have to ruin your relative's life! I've provided a couple of informational links that you can take a look at in order to get you going.

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/Diabetes-Cure.html - Information in the Cure for Diabetes development
http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fi...s/diabetes-meal-plans-and-a-healthy-diet.html - Help suggestions for meal plans to manage diabetes safely.
http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/what-can-i-eat/ - A helpful guide on what you can eat and what you might want to avoid.

    I hope this helps!

    Suggestion:

Proper diet eat nutritious food's proper exercise avoid drinking alcoholic and acidic drinks, such as beers, soft drinks etc, avoid eating fatty foods. Don't eat to much sweet foods instead eat nutritious fruits and vegetables.
sleep well and instead of eating white rice, eat brown rice white rice is high in sugar and calories that can cause high sugar level. And drink plenty of water everyday.

God bless to your relative and have a good day! ^^

Before going into anything too serious, please remember that this forum can't provide you an expert's opinion (unless we have some doctors around which I doubt) and you should always consult a specialist before browsing through the internet.

There's never really a "cure" for these type of diseases. It's something that can be prevented but other times it's more like genetic and inherited. The best way is to lead a healthy life (like one said.) But as for a cure, your best bet would be exercise. Lastly, you can try sugar management and diet portions. That's all, if I find something else I can try to notify you :)
