New Character vs Old Character

I've had my Ranger since years ago, and I feel as if she's obsolete now. I created a new character to see what benefits are received, and it's definitely better than the characters I have now.

Unfortunately, I have donar equipment on my ranger, so I can't transfer those items to the new ranger if I could. Is it worth starting over with a new ranger rather than sticking with the old? If so, would that mean losing my equipment that I spent so much on?

 

Do you mean Transfer your items from old char to your new char in same account? or Transferring your items from old account to your new account? You need VIP to transfer untradeable items tho. Only if those items has still values (Since you didn't mention what items you got there)

I wanted to make a new ranger since a new character is better than the one I have now. I just needed to know if I was able to transfer these to the new character. If VIP is needed to transfer them, then I would have to wait.

 

You can transfer those items via account warehouse if your characters are in one account, VIP membership is not necessary.

If the new ranger is on the same account as the one you used so far, you could install the itempak (in case you haven't had it) to be able to transfer those items to the new one. Pretty much the only things you would be unable to transfer are pets, titles, fused weapons. Get the itempak from here.

 

those abgs are no use now, you could still use arbiters as pvp set and the woc,

That's what I figured. It's unfortunate that I bought these years ago only to have them be useless now. I'll have to grind for new gear again. Thanks for your help.

So I am unable to do either one.

I've downloaded the itempak on the thread and replaced the original with it. When I launched the client, it gave me an error and closed the program. I fixed it by redownloading the old original itempak and replacing it again.

When I went in game, I am still unable to transfer any gear I have listed above to my account warehouse.

 

Either you installed it incorrectly or your computer's RAM memory is lacking space. Do your AION/DATA/USA/ITEMS and AION/DATA/ITEMS folders look the same as they are given in the itempak thread I linked above?

 

I installed it in the right folder, however the path is not the same. My GamezAION folder had been extracted to a folder in the desktop. I've had trouble installing it to the NCSoft folder since the NCSoft launcher had been giving me problems. I can paste it into the correct path and try again to see if that works.

 

Whichever folder you are using, put the file there and if it still doesn't work, take a screenshot of your folders:
DATA/USA/ITEMS
AION/DATA/ITEMS

These are the screenshots of where the files are located. I replaced them with the itempak file from that thread, and it doesn't load the client because of it.
Could having a premium account have any effect on it?

You need the original NCSoft itempak file in your GamezAION/DATA/ITEMS, I am guessing you put the itempak file you've downloaded in both accidentally. Download it from here and replace it with the one you have there right now.

 

So I did this, started up the game, and I am still unable to place any of my equipment in the account warehouse .-.

 

Download teamviewer and PM me or Kessie the ID and pass it gives you so we can connect to you remotely and fix it. It will be quicker than trying to sort it out here.

Edit: This has now been resolved. The issue was a combination of incorrect installation (either used original in both folders or modified in both folders) and low end hardware on a 64-bit system (64-bit client can't handle the items.pak on low end hardware).

Fixed by placing the items.pak in the correct location and forcing a 32-bit client using the .bat launcher.
