TET to PEN ? How to handle it ?

I finally got full TET gear aside from accessories ; since I could afford using cron stones up to this point ( mainly as in from TRI to TET ) I decided to do so but the cost per try gets abysmally higher when it comes to going for PEN so I assume this wouldn't be such a great idea.
How do you usually prepare when it comes to going for PEN ? Any suggestions on how to handle it ? Any spots at which I could be farming to earn back some silver lost in case my tries went badly ?

 

Some people cron their tri to tet. And mostly everyone just goes to pen on high enough fail stacks as it isn’t worth doing crons for. Unless an accessory and your going to have to decide is it worth the time for you. Money is now all caphras, Sd, or if you are geared some High end areas. Also don’t forget to stack your valks on, wait for an enhancement weekend, and get premium.

I'm just a bit afraid of downgrades but It truly isn't worth it to spend 600 crons per attempt...especially now that their price doubled.
I will get 45-50 stacks ( + valks ) and wait for enchantment weekend....and let's hope well I guess. I assume silver will be needed mostly just to get back to TET at this point.
Any suggestions about Failstacks ? I guess I should FS on DUO / TRI items to get up to 50 obv but are there no more reliable methods ?

 

If you want Failstacks there are always other methods!
For example there's the Valencia 1 Questline "East Sands Kingdom Story", which, in its entirety, gives 1x50, 3x30 and 5x20fs. The questline has 48 quests and takes you around Valencia and the desert, so prepare accordingly! You can do this questline on every character that hasn't done it already (duh). Would recommend 200AP+ as you have to kill Bashims, Centaurs and Crescents.

If you havn't done so already you could also do the Bartali's Adventure Log for Failstacks (2x100 from the 15 chapters) and other rewards such as permanent sheet AP (iirc you get a total of +4 AP throughout all 15 chapters).

Besides those 2 you might want to look into Rulupee's Adventure Log, which spits out rewards according to the number of quests you have completed. Similar to Bartali's and for that matter all adventure logs, you get permanent family wide bonuses. Here's a quick overview of the most important milestones:
850 Quests completed - 1x40fs
1104 Quests completed - +1FS (permanent), 1x50fs
4921 Quests completed - +1FS (permanent), 1x100fs
9999 Quests completed - +1FS (permanent), 2x100fs
19235 Quests completed - -1FS (permanent), 3x100fs and probably some lasting damage to your brain

 

Should be no problem as I'm 550 ! ~ *flexes* ò w ò

Didn't remember about that questline giving so many FS via scrolls, might definitely be worth doing it.

I wanted to do Bartali but I'm halted atm as I can't seem to find the materials needed to craft a manos neckie anywhere. Not to talk about the fact that I have to handle a 20 m necklace to a npc right after....ugh..will definitely try again soon, tho.

19235 quests look rather time consuming to complete....just...wow...

The questline, or rather the rework of it, was added with the latest patch, so many people probably overlook it.
Bartali's, and that damn necklace in particular, isn't too hard to complete tbh.
If the Silver Crystals, or any kind of Traces are your problem you can always melt down green gear. Depending on what you melt you'll get different, sometimes unexpectedly useful, results.
(Melting down Krea Weapons for example gives Pure Silver Crystals)
bdocodex or bddatabase are very useful sites if you ever want to find out where to get or how to make certain things!
