After pressing Start, black screen then closes to launcher.

Basically the same problem as the other guy below, I click on Start, it loads the screen and you hear the first sound then it closes, with no error message, and the launcher is ready to press start immediately. Firewall is turned off, No AV.

Apparently you are not the only one experiencing this error using Steam client. I recommend downloading the game through Gamez launcher, or the official.

 

This was downloaded from the official, I'm not using steams version.

This is how I installed the game, I do not own the steam version so unless I buy it, I wouldn't be able to download it from there anyways. You can see by the installation directory this is not a steamapp install, as was posted in the startup log as well.

 

I figured it out.

For some crazy reason, you need to enable UAC to make the game work now.

Win 7 = Start -> Control Panel : In search field type UAC, click Change User Account Settings, Slide bar to the second from the top, the Default. Now reboot and try again.

 

i have the same problem too, since maintenance i cant log in, after pressing start on launcher, i got crashed to desktop after the pearl abyss logo.
i got the UAC on,
i got 3 clients on 3 PC (mine and my brothers' PC). all 3 got the same exact problem, crashed to desktop after the pearl abyss logo.
so, im guessing the error is server-side but no one seems to be complaining about cannot getting into the game.

 

A few of my friends and I also did not find the reason, we are all under the official client

I'm having the same problem, use oficial (NA) client how to fix it?

 

I use Gamez launcher to restart the client, and the problem is still there

 

Press win key + r. In the box type eventvwr and click okay.
In the window that pops up, navigate to Windows logs > application.
There you should see error or warning. Find the last bdo related entry in there. It should give you some information about why it closed. This can be very helpful. Let us know what eventviwer says.

And yes, As Noyah stated, the log looks like its the steam version. Apperently this is like all logs are starting now. Mine looks like steam too. Even though I downloaded via official launcher. I dont have any problem though.

 

So I tried to do other things and might know the reason the game closes itself just right after kakaogames.
It's because of that VCRUNTIME140.dll

I did try to delete it from C:\Windows\System32
Somehow if we have it in that directory, the game will close right after kakaogames without any error warning or anything, just pop. end.
But whenever I try to delete it, the warning just like in the picture will persist. I tried to ignore it and somehow able to log in, even until entering the game. I did quit and try again, to no avail this time, it keeps on the "now processing" box.


This is just so weird, why it only affects some people, how come some people said that they were able to play nicely without even any problem. If it's about the steam thingie, no. I don't play this / downloaded off steam.

 

i try the eventviewer thingy, it shows no record about the BDO related stuff,
i start the eventviewer, then i run BDO from the launcher until it crashes, when i check back at event viewer, there's no recent activity recorded, the last record is like 3 hours ago which i dont know what of.

I completely downloaded the game again via the Launcher and the error continues. I've tried everything and it does not show LOG here either.

 

It looks to me like your Visual C++ Runtimes are "broke" or you are missing something.

Your error Jodhi is related to visual c++ 2015 specifically

Tried the first link, prompt to restart pc, done that, and still not working. The game will forcefully close by itself without a warning, always the same issue.

tried that,
still same problem occurs,
but on the other note, i notice the XIGNCODE popup window that usually pops after you press start from the launcher is no longer exist,
replaced by some flash screen title of black desert online.
does that got anything to do with my problem?
