Continual crash at Family name creation screen

As the title states -- I can get to the point of the game asking to create a family name, but I dont get to type anything, before the game crashes -- no error. Just crash/closes and the launcher pops back up. I've been trying on two different computers since creation of account yesterday. I've verified everything. Ran as admin. Made sure game and gamez are both allowed through all firewalls. I've restarted my computer. I made a copy of the bdo game and put inside the gamez folder, just for gamez (and let it roll that copy back) -- gamez is on one hd on my pc, my retail version is on a completely separate hd on my pc. I'm running Win 10, its fully updated. My retail version works fine even as recently as an hour ago. please help/advise how to proceed. Thank you.

 

Damaged files may be causing the problem. Did you try running a repair through gamezbd launcher?

 

I had completely uninstalled/reinstalled -- everything. Before I ever wrote.
Then the patch torrent came out last night, I left it running all night, game worked fine today until a few moments ago.
Now it kicked me saying server maintenance.
