Threat generation

    Apparently here on GamezBD, we don't get monster threat generated the same manner as on PA-servers (Pearl Abyss). Even with a big level difference, I am still generating threat against all monsters, in all regions on PA-servers. Here we loose (how it sounds) all threat generation, at a certain level difference.

    Is this intentionally done by the developers?
    Is it merely a byproduct of some other mechanism, that would be difficult to alter?

    If by that statement you meant that monsters attack you unprovoked despite level difference on retail, then it's not true. If you outlevel mobs by 10 levels they will not attack you. The difference you're observing is likely based on the fact that it's easier to outlevel mobs on gamez due to higher xp multiplier.

    Well, I made the thread after my level 54 Shai, on the Pearl Abyss server, was trying to farm in the Serendia area, where the monsters are maximum level ?? below level 50 for sure, and had to stop farming several times, as the "grass beetle or moss crab" don't remember the name now, kept attacking me.

    It is true that I have noticed, that some monsters do not obey the same rules as others do. So yeah in general, it might be true that a level difference is the determinating factor, but I know from personal experience that some monsters do not obey that formular.

    So, my interest in making this thread, is to ask the GamezBD developers, if it is possible to have the threat level increased, so that we don't have to bring a horse into the combat areas, just to gather the monsters, now that so many of them no longer react to others being attacked :(

    @Carl @Kolka Is there any way, to alter the current threat generating mechanisms, without having to manually go through the database file?

    We used to have better threat generation, and monsters that responded to attacks on others nearby, as well as good threat generation for mounts. But nowadays we don't have any of those things anymore, only in the "most used" areas, as well as high leveled areas. Is there a way to get the "old" threat generation back?
