    I didn't mean it that way, I meant if you take (6/2)*(1+2) it gives you 9 like on google, but if you just write 6/2(1+2) without the parenthesis on the first division then it's what ghost said

    Well, if you ask me, google kind of got it right. After all actual parentheses are eliminated, the next thing is to follow the normal sequence of operations (left to right), which leaves us with 9.

    people that are confused of the answer are miss leaded by engineers who made this as a joke.

    pedmas clearly states parenthesis meaning you do first what's inside the parenthesis. then outside.

    also, any engineers can fool around with numbers. it's like asking to prove 1+1 = 10. you will get a variety of equation to get the answer.
