Alt reading with bookshelf

Hi,
I'm wondering if reading while on another character has been added to this version, or if it's bugged and not working currently? I just bought a bookshelf, doesn't seem to let me read when I switch from my alt, or at least it doesn't say it under the character's name plate. I saw on the main game's forums that it was bugged around late January, so is it possible it's bugged here now with the recent patch? Just curious.
