Aquiring 4.0s extend weapons - Any tips?

Well, I'm quite a noob about the content beyond patch 2.7, especially on 4.0 with the addition of the "new" extends and the Tia Eye instance. Anyone got a tip on aquiring those weapons for their looks, in case there is still a way to fuse the looks of weapon A with the stats of weapon B?

Since both servers seem quite low on population, though the one I'm on (Lumiel) seems even lower on population, I was considering a solo approach towards Tiamat. I have two characters to use, one being a cleric and one an aethertech. From my previous experience back in 2.7 I know that cleric is a pretty decent solorun-class due to its balance of healing and damage skills. Not to mention I got more mana pots than I can drink in a week.

And if there's any legal line-of-sight tricks to use like back in the times of Besh Temple (hide behind obstacle -> bash the boss to death), please let me know.
