it's funny cause when I first met you, you came to me and told me "I'm american, german irish and russian" and I thought "oh okay.. one of his parents must be german, the other one irish, his grandparents must be russian"

I mean, saying your ancestors were german, irish, russian, and every other shit you come up with, that's one thing, but introducing yourself as german irish and russian when you have no idea about any of these things, man that's a whole new thing

 

Like I said before I've fucking traced my ancestry as far back as the mid 1600's and almost ALL my ancestors I traced lived and died in those areas. I'm not gonna say I'm full blooded American just because a few of my great great grandparents decided to up and move to Murrica one day a little over a hundred years ago.

So therefore I consider myself GermanIrishRussian, if you don't like it then find me in real life, defeat me in hand to hand combat, and I'll admit to being a full blooded fatass American.

He would probably move to Sparta and then he could say he is a true blood Spartan and how awesome it is to be Greek because he lives in Greek and is therefore Greek and all the hundreds of years of your ancestry doesn't matter

 

Honestly. I think in your case involves a lot of a subjective appreciation on the topic. Which is not wrong at all, and simply reflects an stance on how you view yourself and how proud you can be of who you are, bit narcissist maybe but everyone floats differently.

In my personal opinion, I do think is irrelevant, except as a simple curiosity. I do think that regardless of genetics one becomes a member of a nation when one absorbs the cultural and social traits that make that culture what it is; language, customs, time cycles, expression conventions, manners, social preferences and certain tastes that become common for people of the given nations, etc, etc, etc. In my eyes, you are a gringo, no matter how much recessive or dominant European genes you may or not have, or how much entertaining this thread can be. And that cant happen in one generation, but in several as parents and grand parents will always try to impart their original ways, but as generation passes those traditions and ways are lost because it lack of usefulness.

Your historic genes will give you, maybe, certain visual perks depending on how recessive they are, which becomes more so as generations pass. If your family has been in the states since 1600, I cant think you will have much of an European. And for the record, genetic patterns do not modify thinking structure, you aren't more or less intelligent because origin, but education and environment.

But then again, if its a big deal for you and you are seemingly proud of that, sure why not. Just don't go and tell that to the wrong crowd, ultra nationalism is more common that one may think.
