Blackstar Enhancing Question

I could have sworn that leveling Blackstar gear while harder would result in a FS increase when it failed. Is this true or should I expect to see that the FS does not increase nor my chances of success. I ask because I have had the same +55 failstack with a 17 percent chance fail 12 times over the last few days on a Duo Blackstar helmet I am trying to level. On each of these failures I eat 190 Crons so far totally 2280. I know RNG is sometimes awful as is leveling Blackstar gear. But my bigger concern is that every attempt is not resulting in my failstack going up. Can someone confirm if the Failstack goes up leveling Blackstar and I have encountered a bug or if it doesn't and is not supposed to go up. I could have sworn with other BS pieces I have leveled it did go up. Thanks in advance.

 

When you use Cron Stones, the failstack won't increase. It will only increase without Crons.
