The new launcher is weird. I had a guy tell me he gets crashes on retail while gamez works fine, retail worked for him with my NA bat file but not the official launcher xd They really screwed up big time.

Anyway don't think the win8 fix does any harm, seen a Win 7 person run the game because of it too. Besides, if it was a dll issue it would crash every time, it wouldn't run with the bat launcher either. I would have to see his client to see what he did and check file versions but anyway, I wanna know what his bat launcher contains. There are a few versions floating around and the older one is missing crucial parameters.

The thing is that the old launcher is missing these parameters: -nowebshop -ingameshop

Also, since you use a bat launcher, you most likely missed out on the gamez overrides since it would be opening the gamez webshop and not the NA one otherwise. Go to L10N\1_enu\data\ and check for zData.pak. Do the same for Data\world\zWorld.pak. Running the gamezaion launcher updater (right click -> run as administrator to have access to download them) will download them for you.
