    pretty much XD

Only hacks that can happen on these accounts are giving passwords away or having a password that is way to easy. such as abc123

Character PINs were coded back in 2011, they're simply something we've decided to leave disabled after having them on for a few months back in the day.

There's a few reasons for that but to summarize the two main ones:

Forgetfulness - A lot of our players are, for lack of a better word, forgetful. When we initially introduced char PINs the forums more or less become a seething mass of PIN reset requests. In-game GMs were also being spammed by alt accounts and friends trying to get into their characters. Creating an easy and automated system to reset a PIN kinda defies the point of one while making it tricky to do just frustrates legitimate players. That gets further complicated with language barriers.

Ineffective - In the overwhelming majority of "hacking" cases we've found the underlining culprit to be betrayed trust. People who were sharing their details with friends that ended up robbing them. If you're sharing your password with a friend then obviously you're going to give them the char PIN too. Net cafes are another possible area of concern but if a net cafe decides to keylog your details they can just as easily screencap you entering a PIN, the same is true for people lurking behind your shoulder watching you log in.

There's also the possibility of someone using a leaked DB from somewhere else on the internet to guess your password but this many years into Gamez anyone who was unlucky enough to get hit by something like that already would have and ultimately that's their fault for not following good security practices (using different passwords for different services)

While I sympathize with your desire to further secure your account at the end of the day we do not believe it's an effective countermeasure for the entire server to be forced into.

Ideally I'd like to see an opt-in system where players can specifically opt to have their chars protected (via ingame command probably) rather than the default which forces all players to enter a PIN at login however that's currently not within the system's built functionality.
