I find this article to be very stupid, blaming genes for mans stupidity, is crazy. Genes make up the physical features of a human being not the mind set. Your stuck in your mothers womb for 9 months you can't possibly be considered retarded then and from the ages of 1-10ish are the years where everyone is stupid, because were young, clueless, and just down-right blind of our surroundings. Everyone is capable of reaching the same form of intelligence that people 30,000-50,000 yrs ago had. Its simply just that everyone now a days is pretty much handed to us which makes us less intelligent; technology; but to blame genes idk thats going too far in my opinion.

Do you have a contextual premise to which discuss, a question? Or is more like a put your opinion even if you go in a random direction?

Its a entertaining article with a quite factual situation, but you need to contextualize the discussion.

That´s the problem, believing has the condition that you do not have information to make a solid statement. Its a guess, a conjecture at best.

The article doesn't have much to go on other than the theory that there are gene mutations going around making everyone a bit more stupid.

The article itself is just plain stupid. Though it`s quite entertaining to read.
Blaming genes? quite unreasonable and pathetic.

OT: The word Civilisation is the UK version of civilization. Most words that has Z in American English is S on European English.

Regarding the topic there are alot of points that are unjustifiable.
    1. You cannot compare the ratio of competent and intelligent people with the incompetent and not so intelligent people of today and yesterday. Population Explosion is an inversely proportional factor for the "nature's raw selective mechanisms".

    2. Less intelligent can be tied with "more lazy". Not that people are getting less intelligent, they just dont find the drive anymore to crave for more knowledge.

Well, not quite. The article is not exactly a scientific one. But it can lead you to different ways of reasoning depending on your knowledge. We could begin starting about war as natural selector method in our unnatural way of living and I could make it quite defendable, you know. Or for instance about the mutations in intelligent humans like Einstein, his brain was different from us, he was what you could call a mutant in a way. Or lets talk about civilization as an evolutive body, considering that from all of all population only a 10% has a relevance, and the rest is totally expendable, versus in the past where giving certain environmental conditions those that didn´t had much to do where simply discarded. Or what is wisdom in our eyes? Rarely we now depend on our elders for advance information since when you reach what we call old age is around 80+ years. While in the past a human living more than 70 was too much; and at 70 you are still a person that can be leading a company not exactly considered old.

There are many ways to reason towards this without calling it stupid just because you don´t feel like is reasonable.

The very same topic rings some true under an observable reality. You could even go and make a post about guided evolution through science. It will happen eventually.

So that is my point, at least for me, I could go on and on, and I need a context to do so.
