'combatant stones' heating did not return "spirit's first breath"

So, I heated all my Narchillan gear pieces and ended up with 7pcs of Spirit's First Breath.

Then, I completed the quests for the Combatant’s Stone (Armor) and the Combatant’s Stone (Weapon).

One Spirit's First Breath was heated with each of the Combatant's Stone Fragment to turn into the Combatant’s Stone (Armor) and Combatant’s Stone (Weapon).

Now, there are 5pcs of Spirit's First Breath remaining.

When I re-heated the Combatant’s Stone (Armor) and Combatant’s Stone (Weapon), it did not return the Spirit's First Breath. However, it did revert the Combatant's Stones (Armor & Weapon) into Combatant's Stone Fragments (Armor & Weapon).

(I made the mistake of using another Spirit's First Breath heated with one of the Combatant's Stones and reverted it again; still did not return the Spirit's First Breath. So, now I only have 4pcs of Spirit's First Breath)

There is no way to complete "[Special Aid] By the Power of Narchillan Once More" (by NPC Fughar)?
