    after a serious consideration, i asked my self, what does viagra promote... aphrodisiac,

    what common consumable has a lot of aphrodisiac...

    Watermelon
    herbs
    spices
    some chinnese herbal coffee of some sort...

    I believe it has a role in A LOT of drug metabolism.

    Major major major player... the family of cytochrome P450's.

    Mainly its job is to attach a say... a functionalization group onto a drug... so say a hydroxide -OH onto a drug... and this gets it ready for conjugation such as glucuronidation by UDP-Glucuronosyl transferase... which will make a drug more water soluble (and be eliminated through the renal ... uhm kidney... system much easier.).

    But yeah, cytochrome P450 CYP3A4 I believe it is... is non-competitively inhibited by grapefruit juice. So prettymuch making it unable to perform its role of metabolizing the cGMP helping (or well phosphodiesterase 5 inhibiting) silendafil... viagra.
