based in your saying if i have 794 crit does it mean that crit cap is 800?crit cap is 440.get over with it.the only reason to have around 650 crit is to crit hit those that have +15 set armor and wings.cause they get 210 crit resist.if you check for example Glad profiles in retail they all have around 550 w/o food etc
after 440 you get 1% for every 20 points till 600.then its 1% for every 50 points.now if crit cap is not working in this server is other story

there is no cap... there is a strange mathematic that make it worse

    I THINK!!

    440 - : each 10 critical points = 1%

    440~550 :each 20 criticalpoints = 1%

    550+ : around 40 critical points = 1%

there is no hard cap for crit stat. but making it higher than 600-650 is way to waste your manastone sockets.

my Chanter has 440 unbuff with Hit mantras it 490, other Hit mantra it 555, but from what Iv seen with 490 my crit percentage is high like around 60%+ cause rarly get noncrits.

before you implement it, better test it yourself first.
perhaps we will never do crit damage after 2-3 hours just like what your failed trigger rate does.

Its more simple than you think. The soft cap is pretty much still 440 before diminishing returns, however...you will require more crit as crit resist checks 1:1 against ur crit strike rating. For instance 440 crit vs 214 crit resist, it will take ur crit strike down to 226. So yeh, find out what crit resist cap is then keep in mind chanter's Hit Mantra's presence increases by 50.

^^~ my crit is 630 now and 95% crit with mobs...and mostly 40% crit in pvp...So i believe the max cap for crit is around 700-800

Make you'r crit around 550, and the rest you can get from foods/scrolls.

I don't think so...last time my crit was 550 and 75-80% crit but now with 630 crit, the chance for crit increases a lot =P

take a look on this... it's based on tests and not only rumours (as it says):
    http://www.aionsource.com/topic/40542-character-stats-xp-dp-origin-gerbatorteam-july-2009/

And if you are boring to read for all stats here's only about crit:

    2.4 Crit Rate

Gerbator has found an impressing number of tests at this address. The results are consistent with results he posted earlier, while at the same time being much better (more hits analized). He took them as replacement for former test data:

    HTML:
    Crit Rate # hits # crits %

What shines through these results, and here Gebator also quotes the site:

    • from 300 to 440 in Crit Rate, each 10 points increase the probability of landing a critical hit by 1%
    • from 440 to 600, each each 10 points increase the probability of landing a critical hit by 0,5%
    • from 600 to 649, each each 10 points increase the probability of landing a critical hit by 0,2%

In the original text Gebator tries to go further, taking the risk to be mistaken. This part is in a separate post.
