Didn't get Simplified quest after selecting it in Crossroads

Like the title says, I didn't get the simplified quest after I selected it from the crossroads, and I accidently completed the quest that came after it, rendering me unable to forfeit the quest that allowed me to accept it in the first place to try to reobtain it, that being "The Sage of Velia".

In the forum post for the guide for Season IV, it mentions being able to reobtain it before completing Embarking on an Adventure, but talking to Alustin again does nothing to help in that. Is there something else I gotta do to go through it?
