Christmas, for me, changed after my parents got divorced. My siblings and I stayed with our mother. My mother's side of the family, however, were very big on Christmas. And being part Filipino meant a very big family lol. Every year we would celebrate it at a different family member's house. We always played the same Christmas themed family games and added some here and there. One of the grandpas would dress up as Santa every year and distribute all the children's presents. We would always get excited after hearing our names being called by Santa! That changed after we were old enough to realize it was our grandpa, as one would expect haha. The finale to our annual Christmas party was always a talent show, performed by all the children and grandchildren under the age of 18. It didn't matter if it was good or bad. As long as you performed, you get a reward, which we knew was money! Our talents got worse and worse as the years passed. Oh! And of course we had a giant feast!

Merry Christmas!!!

 

Many gather around the candle lit room laughing,
Ever anticipating for the stuffed turkey that is baking,
Rarely can one enjoy such a feast,
Rarely may be an exaggeration at the very least,
Young and old chatter merrily.

Christmas is a time of celebrations,
Holidays that is eagerly awaited by many nations,
Red and green decorations light up the streets,
Indoors filled with colours and wonderful treats,
Sometimes Santa’s sled can be heard momentarily,
Tree in the corner illuminated with dazzling lights,
Miracles gave birth to this wonderful night,
As the night comes to an end and the stars gleam,
Stories blessed by the holy spirit enter children’s dreams.

Sorry my english is bad

Once upon a time, on a wonderful christmas evening a litle boy was unhappy about how he usally spend the past christmas eve.
All christmas, this boy used to cry for his presents, but since that his mother got sick, diagnosed with cancer, he can't stop thinking the good times he could past with her , if he not had been so selfish.
So this boy passed all the christmas time with his mother afraid that was the last time he could ever see her, and whished for himself to go back on time.
When the time to open the presents came , his mother gave to him what he asked for christmas, and he felt bad..
So the boy gently kissed his mother and said:
- I love you no matter what
And since then, this boy that, now have 25 years old and have 3 beautifull childrens tell them this story on christmas eve whyle they are beside their grandmother.

christmas for me ?!!
Back then it was about the toys, decorations, and food. Sadly enough My life was not fortunate enough to have those things.
So to me christmas was overshadow of bitterness and jealousy to fact I do not have anything...
As I've grown, I was able to get all those things I have wanted when I was child so at the brief momment I was satisfied because christmas was constant reminder I have made something of my life and can afford things I could not afford before.
As years go by, it becomes a lot more empty... So I tried to look beyond what I can afford to what I am missing...
Ones, I first help in a homeshelter I begin to get it...
The following year... I could not give or buy, but instead I got hot chocolate and just watch christmas as it happends around me...
thats is when I finally get it...
Christmas was a force that puts the grinchiest of people to joy, because the feeling it brings, and I finally got it.
So that is what christmas is for me, the fact we feel the joy no matter what, and we can either share or receive that feeling, but it will never fail to fill the world with that overwhelming emotion

Christmas is all about counting your blessings and being thankful for the things dear to you. It is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts. It is the time of cakes, candles, carols, joy and laughter. It is the time of giving, sharing, loving and forgiving.

I was asleep on Christmas Eve i then woke up on Christmas morning,

I then had Christmas Breakfast,

I then had Christmas Lunch,

I then had Christmas Dinner,

Then Dessert.

when i was a kid I'm waiting for Santa to put a gift in my sack hanging in front of the window, because my mom says if i did put a sack in front of the window Santa will come and will put a gift in it. before i put a sack they will ask me what gift i like so that Santa will give it to me.. years past and always have a gift in my smelly sack (ha ha ha) then wen i was 11 years old i peek... that's when i saw my mom passing a gift for my dad to it in my sack... then i shouted "daddy mommy kayo Si Santa Claus..?" means "dad mom your Santa Claus?" then the next year i told them i wish Santa will give me cash.. then they laugh.. but now I'm the Santa Claus of my nephew..

When people are young christmas is an exciting moment because childs knows that "christmas father" will bring to them presents they'll enjoy... But when they're getting older they learn the real meaning of this event :
Christmas is an event where family and friends meet around a good meal to share stories, presents, priviledged moments, love... together and being thankful for what they get. Everyone is here to give, to share and to receive.
It's also the possibility to meet again friends or family you can't see most of the year.
In my country, Christmas is a part of our culture.
