I'm running Aion on an Asus gaming laptop (Win 7 Ultimate) with Nvidia GeForce GT 540M. When I run graphic option under Full Screen, the game runs very smoothly (high FPS) but NPC and effects sometimes take awhile to display (Ex: You run to the Trade Broker location but the NPC delays to display for about 40sec). When I run Window Full Screen option, everything appears precisely and there s no delay but my FPS is significant lower and more lags as well.

What would be the cause to this issue? Is it possible to run under Full Screen smoothly without delays? I also wonder if anione also has this problem...

    Any advices are greatly appreciated!

PS: I have updated my Win, DirectX and graphic driver to the latest.

    lolz good old nvidia cards

    explanation
Full screen -> runs as a real fullscreen application
Window full screen -> its actually a windowed mode with borders just outside your desktop size so they cannot be seen. thats why alt tabbing in this mode is instant while in fullscreen it takes forever and the game minimizes

geforce graphics cards r programmed to give preference to real fullscreen applications in terms of performance so they dont bother much with windowed mode, resulting in lower fps.

there is a way to fix this by forcing a constant 3d performance level even when not running "fullscreen" applications

    1. Download the latest version of RivaTuner here: RivaTuner

    2. Install RivaTuner and Run the program.

    3. In the Main tab, click on the arrow next to Customize under Driver Settings to bring up more options then click System Settings (the first Icon)

    4. In the Overclocking tab, where it says "Force constant performance level" select performance 3D.

    5. Click apply, and reboot the system when prompted.

If for some reason the "Force constant performance level" drop-down is grayed out you will need to go to the "Power users" tab in the initial RivaTuner window. Then click on the "+" next to "RivaTuner \ NVIDIA \ Overclocking". Look for "EnablePerfLevelForcing" and under Value type 1. Click apply, this should allow you to modify "Force constant performance level." Finally, follow steps 3-5 above.

    good luck ^^

edit: with this fix ur window full screen should run with high fps, i prefer it coz of easy alt tab, try it

btw when it comes to npc loading speed, a lot of it depends on how many people are around as well as whether its ur first time loading it, coz after that he stays in ur RAM and loads faster the next time
