Solved Game crashes when i walk near the Velia stable area.

The game works completely fine if i am anywhere else in the game. the second i walk in the vicinity of the stable it crashes to desktop with no error code or anything. multiple characters and servers. only thing it does is it bars me from all servers for like 5 minutes. i cleared cache folder, reinstalled the game, updated windows, tried a different computer with different hardware, not entirely sure whats going on here... it wouldnt be so bad if i didnt need my horse out of that stable >_> hopefully its an easy fix because this is extremely annoying....

Has this happened in the past or is this a new issue? Which channel are you on when it crashes? Velia stable is a high congestion area as is the marketplace. More so because of all the idle horses in the area. Try lowering your settings in options before visiting the stable.

 

first time its happened. it does it on any channel. just got off work so i havent been able to log back in yet >_>. and if it was a congestion issue then wouldnt it crash on boss fights too? im at a loss here lol..

 

not doing it anymore lol. i guess the reset/update unintentionally fixed the issue

 

spoke too soon. started doing it again >_> lol... same spot just crashes to desktop. no error code. on ch 1 atm.

 

Whenever my game crashes like this in certain spots in game, using the rescue function from the website usually fixes this for me. Even if I return back to the spot, I don't crash anymore. Maybe try doing it to see if it can fix your problem?

 

using the website rescue is the only way i can log back into the character that crashed. The game plays normally as long as i dont go near that area. also just to test. this time it crashed i was on all low settings at 720p. my rig can handle 1440p maxed at about 70-80 fps. so it isnt a performance issue lol..

 

RIP. Not sure then, I usually crash in the area between Dim tree and Velia but mine gets fixed after doing the rescue thing.

Can you tell me your specs? Do you notice any spiking in resource usage when you walk past Velia market? Sometimes it can be a RAM issue. What Antivirus are you using, if you don't mind my asking?

 

Any solution to this other than performing a clean reinstall?

This is bizarre. It's jut came back to test the new class after some time away and can't play because of this crash. It started to happen when I first used the ".rescue" command. Before that I did entered Velia with the new character with no problem. Even interacted with some NPCs. Now the game crashes as soon I try to load any character stationed on Velia. All other toons that are not there are working fine.

 

i5-8400. 32 gb trident z 3200 ram, rtx 2070 super, 850watt corsair platinum psu, 1tb samsung m.2( OS and primary games) asus strix mobo. My pc has no issues running this game at all. and LordMarduk. mine started just crashing in velia near the stable. now it does it everywhere. lol

 

And a clean install DID NOT fix this issue for me. but good luck to you lol

 

OH i will mention the second rig that i tried it on with no success the specs are still more than enough to run this game. fx-8350, GTX 1080 ti, 32 gb ram, asus mobo. still random crashes to desktop.

 

What antivirus do you use? Are your drivers up to date? Do you use any kind of GPU overclocking software like Afterburner or Rivertuner? Turn everything off in the background.

See if running a sfc scan will help. If you can't open event viewer and see if you can pinpoint whats causing the crash.

Opening Event Viewer:
Right click start menu and press Event Viewer and then open the game. Once it crashes, see if it leaves a footprint. Look for an exclamation point error that deals with either SmartGuard or the client and copy and past the error log here.

 

Since my windows install was pretty fresh I went ahead and just reinstalled everything. brand new windows install, new game install, i just redid everything. it seems to be working so far lol. idk what hte deal was. and for AV software i usually dont even bother with it so i guess windows defender is what i use. but i had set exceptions for anything gamez. if it messes up again ill let you guys know. but so far a clean windows install and clean game install seems to have fixed the issue. i know htats kind of an extreme way to fix an issue but it worked in my case.
