Games crashes a couple seconds after loading into server

I have had this problem on and off for the last 3-4 months. The game runs perfectly fine for roughly a week before crashes start to happen randomly. After a couple days of random crashes they start to happen about an hour after I start playing. After the game crashes, it will crash again seconds after my character loads into the server or even immediately after selecting the character.

Before these ideas are suggested; I have tried the following:
- Deleting cache and force checking files
- Reinstalling the game
- Checking my memory and SSD through multiple different programs
- Reinstalling windows (This gives me a couple days before the problem returns)
- Rolling back or updating graphics card driver
- Disabling GPU driver overlay
- Turning on/off power save mode
- Lowering graphics settings
- Disabling antivirus and setting exceptions in the AV and firewall
- Lowering my router firewall
- Stopping corsiar/logitech/discord from running in the background
- Changing my DNS server
- etc.

My pc specs:
i5 9600k
AMD RX 5700
16gb 2400mhz Memory

Side notes:
Event viewer shows
"The SmartGuard Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s)."
"Game process ID 1428 terminated abnormally after 9340 s. Exit Code: 0xc0000409"

Any help or advice would be appreciated and I would hate to have to take another break from the game and the people I've met

I'm sorry you've been having this problem. What version of windows are you running? Have you been able to play normally before this started happening or has this been a consistent problem? Out of curiosity what AV are you using? Does any other programs on your PC give you trouble or is it just BDO and SmartGuard? Try:

• Running system file check

1. Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
2. In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
sfc /scannow

I have had this issue since Lahn was added to Gamez. I have just given up every time it gets worse but im invested in the game at this point. I end up taking 2-3 month long breaks in between

 

I understand your frustration.
Try:

• Using VPN (hide.me is a free one)
• Running the launcher as administrator

 

I already run as administrator but ill try a VPN now and ill let you know if it works

It let me load into my character but I'm not sure if it's the VPN that fixed it or if it's the fact that I waited an hour before trying to get in. Ill let you know if it comes back. I will also need to find a more permanent solution

Hopefully you have another possible solution. I played for about 3-4 hours today with the VPN on, and it just crashed. I have restarted my pc and cleared cache and every time I try to load in with any of my characters it crashes.

 

What antivirus do you use? Are your drivers up to date?

 

All drivers are up to date. I dont use antivirus and windows defender is disabled.

 

What about real-time protection?

 

Real time protection is already off

 

Open the GameZ Launcher and try to disable:

• Game client seeding
• SMT/Hyper-Threading for game process

 

Game client seeding is already disabled and disabling SMT/Hyper-threading didnt fix it

Do you remember what you have installed before the problem returns ?

The error "Exit Code: 0xc0000409" is caused by a misconfigured system files in your windows operating system ( source )

 

It seems like you have tried everything and honestly I am pretty sure the problem is somehow related to your graphic card. Could it be that it is not compatible with the game? Try playing with the settings and see if it changes anything. I don't know what else it could be...

 

You said your drivers are up to date. Is your RX 5700 20.4.2 or maybe higher? If it is can you uninstall that and install version 19.10.2 and see if that helps?

Edit: I have tried older versions of the driver but I will attempt using that version

 

Its let me into the game again but I'll see how long it lasts. Thanks for having so much patience and helping me.

 

Started crashing again, I don't know if there is even a solution, I may try to reinstall windows again.
