Here is a detailed comparison (really doesn't get better than this)
    Intel Core i7 3770 vs AMD A10 5800K

The intel one wins on all benchmarks, though AMD is more popular with overclockers since it supports higher temperatures and is unlocked for it. Either way more apps are becoming multithreaded these days, making intel (virtual 8 core) more viable.

By the way, the naming is confusing since you list speeds for 1 without turbo boost and speed for the other with it, the real speeds are the following:
    Intel - 3.4 ghz, 3.9 turbo boost
    AMD - 3.8 ghz, 4.2 turbo boost

Either way, AMD doesn't have hyperthreading so even with fewer cores used by an application, you still get better performance per core with intel

well sir Smartik1, tahnk you very much for taking the time to make and research a detailed comparison with the technical aspects of each product.....really very informative and i really am leaning more on intel i7 3770 although price wise, amd 5800 is lower than i7 3770 although most of the computer shops here in our place are using amd products/models since they say its more suitable for gaming purposes although it tends to overheat more than intel i7 models.......newey, much thanks and really appreciate your feedback......good day and keep up the good work Sir Smartik1.....
