Hi! Looking for some assistance!

I'm completely new to Aion, never EVER played it before. Although I have played other mmorpg's like WoW, Neverwinter, LOTRO, etc.. before, and i'm a huge fan, but i've never played Aion. I decided to start out on a private server cause ya know, it's easier to level etc..

but i'm not sure if it was the right decision. So, should I start on Retail Aion or this? And if it's this, and someone point me in the direction of a guide for leveling or show me how to get started? It would be highly appreciated.

If i were you, i will choose aion retail.
