It's really nothing far fetched brother, everyone with a nylon string guitar plays this way. The only real advantage to fingerpicking that I see is the possibility to play multiple non-adjacent strings simultaneously, which is when you hear some parts where it sounds like different guitars are playing at the same time. The guy is good, don't get me wrong, but go look up "Miles of Machines" and tell me it isn't impressive as well.

Flamenco is deffineatly one of the hardest styles imo, I'm a rock/jazz guitarist so yeah it's something different and this guy is just amazing..never seen another flamenco guitarist play so fast and make it sound so good as for Dragonforce their "video game" sound isn't all that great yes it sounds fast but in reality it's a lot of fingertapping and alternate picking put in a piano for a bit more effect and it sounds faster then it actually is.

Paganini: Caprice No. 5 (Shlomo Mintz) - YouTube

This is my favorite Caprice. At around 30 seconds, you can understand how Paganini fathered shredding.

ok well enough about shredding, can kirk or dave or someone metal player play like him? but i bet he and other flamenco players would overcome any rock/metal style ( except blues of course ! )

that's what i am talking about ....
and anyway i am myself a guitar player and tried almost all styles and i'll admit that the hardest one to play is hendrix/blues and then flamenco... that's just my opinion

Well most of those guitarists are versatile with their guitar I wouldn't be surprised if they could play flamenco
like myself I'm a rock/jazz guitarist but I play classical horrible at flamenco but I try it also play blues and a few other styles. And can't really say flamenco will overcome other styles I don't believe any style can overcome each other everyone has a style they favor and to them it's the best style but people will disagree with you just like you say flamenco can overcome all other guitarists that play rock/metal.

i did not say that style could beat another style, i just said that, for example paco de lucia may play guitar like kirk hammett, but kirk will never play as paco does, and it's still not comparison of styles, and yes i know that they are different players but still they are players, the only difference is that paco is holding spanish acoustic guitar and kirk flying v or less paul or something plugged in different amps.
eh anyway, all i wanted to say was, that, shredding and fast playing can be learnt by hard working but you'll never be good with flamenco unless you are either mexican or spanish !
