Inside the "$Patch$" folder

I'm just wondering if are the files inside that folder are the patched files for 4.8? Or during the update using the Launcher some files are distributed to it's specific folders and aren't saved on the patch folder.

If so by copy and overwriting the old 4.7 files by those files from the patch folder means I could just a have a few patches using the NC Launcher?

Actually I did have a big problem regarding this update for 4.8 .. I finished downloading the files which was 2.69gb and another update for the NCLauncher with 9 stages unfortunately my update was stuck on 8 out of 9 stages and I do have a descent internet connection so internet is not the problem why it stucked so I canceled the update and closed the launcher when I relaunched it some files were "DELETED" on the directory where my Aion files are placed but left me with the $patch$ folder and some few files but the folders that were deleted were identical with the files inside the patch folder.

Anyway my files are in a modified directory so I'm currently following a guide. should I redownload again the files for 4.8 as well as those 9 stages?

 

the patch folder is like to torrent dload folder. it should be around 25gb+ u need do all stages to be able to play. when u do all those 9 stages it begin to extract to game ... after extraction it should write bottom right "play" button and when u got it. just use gamezlauncher and then put itempack on his place in data/usa/items and delete the odl itempack so u will be able to get some restrictions off

 

Why are you saying some files were 'deleted'? o.o

The $patch$ folder is the folder in which the files you need for the update are placed in a .zip format, then extracted on your Aion folder. The files are kept compressed inside the folder once that process is done, hence why they're taking so much space and are not needed. When you're done with the update (and therefore the file extractions), you don't need the folder anymore. I believe though that if some files do happen to get deleted then you can bring them back with a repair without having to re-download them again since they already exist as .zip files in the $patch$ folder and they only have to automatically extracted in the right paths, so if you do think that something was deleted, try repairing.

 

I see but unfortunately the update for stages suddenly stops at 8 then I cancelled it but when I checked the folder the files from 4.7 were deleted but left me with the patch folder and I was like

i was able to do those things... patch nc soft, then the 9 stages. until i got a message telling me that its updated and was able to open the game. added gamelauncher, but after i log in i got this no servers loop.(pls see attach pic for ref. but i tried creating anew acount i can see the servers but cant sellect them. pls help me... tnx

this is happen when u try to change the download location. u better do it normal. download ncsoft/aion downloader start the instalation on the default location then stop it. after that coppy your 4.7 files on the C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSOFT\Aion where it start to install it. when u start again the aion installer will autom update the 4.7 files. i remeber at me 2 times delete my whole aion folder bcs i changed the download loc to my current aion and my net speed was about 50 kb/s :d u have no idea how much i QQ edDD
