    Desc:
Titin is the largest protein yet discovered. It's full chemical name is 189,819 letters long and, depending on how you define a "word" is the longest word in the English language. Here is a sample read aloud.

It is not, as I had intended it, the full word. This is because when I converted the text to speech, it was 2 hours 8 minutes even when I quadrupled the speed. So I have cut out the 2 hours to give you an idea of what it would sound like. Similarly, the text of the screen isn't the full text, because that became a 1 hour and 38 minute video and only the most stoned of geeks could watch it in full. So think of this as a nice visual. :)

also i would like to call fake on that one for 2 reasons:
the allegedly longest word contains waayy too many Y's... over a hunderd of the mto be exact
2nd - i've come to trust wiki and it says nothing about the word being the longest when i searched it

but then again i could be wrong

Titin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"As the largest known protein, titin also has the longest IUPAC name. The full chemical name, which starts methionyl... and ends ...isoleucine, contains 189,819 letters and is sometimes stated to be the longest word in the English language, or any language.[SUP][18][/SUP][SUP][19][/SUP] However, lexicographers regard generic names of chemical compounds as verbal formulae rather than English words.[SUP][20][/SUP]"
