SO, my friends and I are renting a studio.
The fee is $40 per hour, we're going for 3 hours, so it's $120.
+$10 because we're making staff come early
    = $130

    1. 6 people are coming. One more girl will come but only do 1:30 hours so she's paying half price.
    ----
    Each person pays = ?
    1:30hours chick pays = ?

    2. 6 people are coming. One more girl will come but only do 1:30 hours so she's paying half price.
1 MORE person comes as well, she pays full price.
    = 8 people going
    ----
    Each person pays = ?
    1:30hours chick pays = ?

    3. 6 people are coming. One more girl will come but only do 1:30 hours so she's paying half price.
2 MORE people come, both pay full price
    = 9 people going
    ----
    Each person pays = ?
    1:30hours chick pays = ?

I must be an extremely dumb asian if i cant figure this out

    1) If 6 people are coming for 3 hours, the fee will be 6x120=720 dollars. If the chick is coming for 1:30 hours she will have to pay 60 dollars.
    Each person pays 120 dollars
    1:30 chick pays 60 dollars.
    2) If 7 people are coming for 3 hours, the fee will be 7x120=840 dollars. If one girl is coming for 1:30, her fee will be 60 dollars. And that another one who pays full price, will have to pay 120 dollars.
    Each person pays-120 dollars
    1:30 chick pays-60 dollars.
3)If 8 people are coming for 3 hours, the fee will be 8x120=960. If one chick is coming for 1:30, her fee will be 60 dollars.
    Each person pays-120 dollars.
    1:30 chick pays-60 dollars.

If ONE person pays 120 dollars for 3 hours then it's gonna be how I solved it. But if it's like 120 dollars whole studio for 3 hours, then 6 people have to share it, so obviously it has to be 20 dollars per person.

We're renting. Its not per person.
1 hour of studio = $40, no limit on how many people can come

Dont forget +$10 because of early fee

    Okay.... well. Easy math o.o;

If Per Person + Per Hour

    1) ((6x40)3) + ((40/2)3) =
    2) ((7x40)3) + ((40/2)3) =
    3) ((8x40)3) + ((40/2)3) =

    So....

    Then you want to do.

    1) ((40/6)3)+(((40/6)/2)1.5) + 10 = (20+5)+10
    2) ((40/7)3)+(((40/7)/2)1.5) + 10 = (17.15 + 12.86)+10
    3) ((40/8)3)+(((40/8)/2)1.5) + 10 = (15 + 11.25)+10

Soo why was this soo hard regi?

I did the same. It's not right. Not every person has to pay 40 dollars. the STUDIO costs 40 dollars per hour, not 1 person to hire. Like if 6 people hires the studio for 3 hours the fee will be still 120 dollars. So each person will have to pay 20 dollars.

meh u guys r making rocket science out of it, split it into fees for hour and half (halfway point) and do the math for each half like this

60/7 + 5/7 = first hour and half per person (60 is cost for hour and half, 7 people, 5 is half the early fee for 7 people)
60/6 + 5/6 = 2nd hour and half per person (60 is cost for hour and half, 6 people, 5 is half the early fee for 6 people)

    so the first girl only pays 8.57 + 0.71 = 10.28
    the rest of u pay that and 10 + 0.83 = 10.83 which is 10.28 + 10.83 = 21.11

edit: the important parts r 60/7 and 60/6 here, the $10 early fee can be divided among u as u wish, its really less than $1.5 per person no matter how u divide it

for the other parts of ur question, replace the number of people in the formula

edit2: seriously she pays 10 u pay 20 (double the time) thats 130 (6x20 + 1x10 = 7 people total) end of story xD no need to complicate

hush ,my eedit is right =/

Yea, I just woke up lol ^^ Anyway!! My last edit is right =)

    1) ((40/6)3)+(((40/6)/2)1.5) + 10 = ((20*6)+5)+10 = (120+5)+10 = 135$
    2) ((40/7)3)+(((40/7)/2)1.5) + 10 = ((17.15*7)+12.86)+10 = (120.05+12.86)+10 = 142.91
    3) ((40/8)3)+(((40/8)/2)1.5) + 10 = ((15*8)+11.25)+10 = (120+11.25)+10 = 141.25

    Phone calculator is nummie stuffs.

I mean 40 per hour for unlimited people is nice too, so I mean -shrug-

Thats how much each person would have to pay if you finish the formula on the end there x.x!
    As long as your 40 is only per hour and not per person per hour if it is then well...change the change the division to multiplication and remove the how many people there are from the second part divide by 2 and then multiply by the 1.5 o.o;

As a note I hate math, and also am rather horrible at math.

    Okay I got it.
    1) Each person pays- 20.2 dollars
    1:30 hour chick pays - 9.8 dollars
    2) Each person pays- 17.4 dollars.
    1:30 hour chick pays-8.125 dollars
    3)Each person pays-15.35 dollars
1:30 hour chick pays- 7.2 dollars.

Okay so here how I did. I will do the example of first. So there goes 7 people in the studio in first example. If all people went for 3 hours the fee would be 130/7=18.6 dollars for each person. BUT one of the person is going for half time so she will have to pay half price so her price would be 18.6/2=9.8 dollars. If that chick pays 9.8 dollars, there is left 130-9.8=121.2 dollars to pay. So that 6 people who are going for 3 hours have to share it. so it person will pay 121.2/6=20.2

theres bias in that method :p coz now she pays less than half the fee (she pays 9.8 which means they should pay 19.6 but they pay more) u see? xD

anyways do people really care bout the 50 cents or so? its irrelevant

    My method is perfect o.o!

    2) ((40/7)3)+(((40/7)/2)1.5) + 10 = ((17.15*7)+12.86)+10 = (120.05+12.86)+10 = 142.91

However, I wonder how it manages to put the 7 people at a higher cost than 8 lol!

I guess that 7 is just a weird number and not so lucky after all o_O!?

Smartik your forgetting that she said that it is just 40 an hour. For UNLIMITED PEOPLE =X

aka not perfect :p they r supposed to pay 130 total no matter the number of people, in ur method they r giving them $12 extra for no real reason lol
