My expierience with "new player package"

First, I say this with all due respect and appreciation for the effort, thank you devs, gm's and all staff involved.

BUT... if it was your intention to give new players a foot in the game it seems to be a big fail.
1st the manastone boxes are completely useless. You get 30 completely random stones that are completely useless, if youre very lucky you get one or two that have ANYTHING to do with your class "If youre lucky!!" The rest are just things to delete because they are untradable so you cant even barter anything that may be of use to you so they are just things to delete. If youre going to make it untradeable (I do understand why you did this fyi) then it should be SELECTABLE to get something usefull for your class and how you want to build it, as it stands, its simply a waste of time and effort. Respectfully.

2nd The 100 apes and evos you give result in absolutely nothing. On a premium account which most "new" players WILL NOT HAVE my personal results are as follows, I have used all resources from the boxes and am at exactly where I was when I opened the boxes. Before you say it "RNG" I know I know, i've been gaming as long as a lot of you have been alive and on this point I can agree because last night I made a +25 weapon no problem at all. But MANY new players will run into the same thing I did tonight! On a PREMIUM account I did everything I could to change my "Luck" relog, change location multiple times, build an alter and pray. burn sage You name it and STILL have exactly what the boxes gave me. So what does that mean ON THIS SERVER? Absolutely nothing. Run up against Dejavu or Badkitty with your +15 gear and watch what happens in less than one second. Noble effort and all but if the desired effect was to put new guys in the game on any level other than absolute cannon fodder then its a fail.
No insult intended, this is just my personal take after making TWO "new" Characters on the server with no help from my main utilizing the new starter package. Thank you again for the effort.

To sum it up it seems that this new starter package saves a new player a few days of losing events and using the shugo coins to get some level 5 enchant stones, which I personally appreciate thank you. But thats the extent of it. Manastones boxes are useless, +15 gear with insufficient apes and evos to progress any further= for what? I confess my GOAL was to +25 my weapon and some may have some luck with this but my personal experience with this was not good at all and I tried twice, I know "RNG" but I write this with the assumption that your intent was to give new players a fighting chance, not just the illusion of a fighting chance.

I was taught by my grandfather never to voice a complaint without also first coming up with a possible solution and as hard as Ive tried I can only come up with this... +25 the starter package where a new player that has some skill with his class can actually compete, or if on this PVP server they must put in some work to compete, give enough apes and evo to realistically stand a chance of getting the R1 armor and weapon to +25, at least most of it. A +25 R1 player with knowledge of their class and skill CAN compete With the big boys, I know this for absolute FACT. I understand there must be a balance between "Gimme" and some work for it, but +25 should be the baseline. A +25 NAB with no clue how to play will get imedietly steamrolled but hey they were given every chance! But +15 at best +20 weapon will not stand a chance here on Gamez no matter their skill level. (Yes there are exceptions to every rule, Im speaking GENERALLY)

In closing, thank you to all the staff that took part in this update, its a big step toward success and closing all other servers and making Gamez the only real option for oldschool aion gameplay, thank you. Your effort and attention is much appreciated, but this one was a swing and a miss, from the perspective of a "new" player that has played here since the day the server launched. Also, promote Sunless, she is the absolute best customer service that any server could ask for, there cannot be enough appreciation for an emloyee of this calaber. And make no mistake, gamez aion is a business. If it is your intention to grow this business that is based on the nostalgia of a great game, please consider my words.

 

I think the new starter package is fine, because if like you said they give out a +25 or +20 even that will make the game too easy without the need of grinding and just go straight up to pvp. And to be honest as a player if everything in the game is so easy to get or obtain that will makes you get bored too easily and what? in the end you'll quit cause you can't find its thrill to play the game. And the addition of the market and how everything is cheap, getting accessories and set will be easy now, you just have to be more active at voting or maybe donate to support the devs of the game.
