Hello, i am almost finish downloading/ installing the game. I never played AION before so i started reading some posts in the forum, and so far the game sounds REALLY complicated.
How long does it take to learn the basics of the game?
Any tips for noobs / beginners like me?
Thanks in advance, and i am looking forward to meeting you all

Being quite new to the game, as well, I can tell you that it took me maybe a couple weeks or so just to get used to all of the new things. I came from wow, so there's a bit more to this game than I was used to. Once you get the hang of it though, it's really not that difficult.

Edit- As for tips, even though some people on the forums may sound like they're trolling (which they might well be), listen to them. xD They're usually right.

Reaching max level is not hard at all. After that, I guess it's just a matter of how fast/easily you learn and get adapted to different things. Razor's experience isn't the same as my experience, which shouldn't be the same as your experience.

Just join a good and helping legion and you'll be fine. for starters. in terms of mastering a class, we'll you have to choose first though. that's why its a long process unless you have a very short learning curve :)

    Welcome and Good Luck!

I said mastering a class!! Meaning gearing up and reach a point when only a few Sorcerers could beat me. That class was Spiritmaster. As for leveling, if you're new I suggest you digging through the guides section for leveling guides - if you don't know what to do, where to go it's gonna take you a lot of time. However, if you do know the easiest way for leveling, you can do it for less than 3 hours ;)

Indeed. If you go as far as to get VIP when you first start, maxing a char should only take you at most, maybe an hour.

With VIP(allows you to trade usually untradeable items) it took me 2 weeks without donating to get full ABG acc including helmet/belt and 4 abg weapons with 10% gs on each weapon, you just need to know how to trade ^^ Buy low sell high look for any players that are desperate for something and add more than your item is worth

    The game is not complicated..
    Your class will be tho

You dont need to know too much..just level up at 55 and you will find out your class.
Then practice a lot the pvp ( cuz this server is pvp bassicaly..or ZvZ :D zerg vs zerg ) with duels.
Vote every 12 hours so you can get the best set with credits ( ABG )
In-game you can get Anuhart / Elite Guardian Tribunus / E.Archon.T / Archom primus set.
The first set i think you should go for Anuhart..try join a legion and then tell them to help you go to the Instance..Dark Poeta and make the full set.

    Well Good luck

Lumiel I guess. Siel is kind of screwed and is ruled by ABG people (ABG = best gear so far) - you'll end up disappointed if you're not patient. BUT, sets like Mastarius's (decent, in other words) are pretty easy to obtain, unlike Lumiel.
