overclocking ur laptop is stupid - there aren't any decent coolers for laptop.

i would word it differently :p but yes, laptops generally have cooling issues even without overclocking

btw id say most laptops these days even have the access to (processor) overclocking disabled and u cant do it even if u tried :p u can overclock the graphics card with software tools like riva tuner if u wanted but i dont recommend it coz of the serious heat issues.

I'm afraid Riva Tuner doesn't support my graphics card.........T_T

actually riva tuner is one of the better ones, it detects ur graphics driver files and tweaks from there so yeah. 1 of the safe things u can do is use the "optimize for 3d performance" feature on it. it cuts back a bit on desktop app performance and gives it back to u when u game. its not really overclocking and wont cause heat issues. in fact, its a solution to geforce driver crashes/pc freezes (like what i got when playing aion) and my fans actually got quieter :p

    1. Download the latest version of RivaTuner here: http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner

    2. Install RivaTuner and Run the program.

    3. In the Main tab, click on the arrow next to Customize under Driver Settings to bring up more options then click System Settings (the first Icon)

    4. In the Overclocking tab, where it says "Force constant performance level" select performance 3D.

    5. Click apply, and reboot the system when prompted.

If for some reason the "Force constant performance level" drop-down is grayed out you will need to go to the "Power users" tab in the initial RivaTuner window. Then click on the "+" next to "RivaTuner \ NVIDIA \ Overclocking". Look for "EnablePerfLevelForcing" and under Value type 1. Click apply, this should allow you to modify "Force constant performance level." Finally, follow steps 3-5 above.

    this is the fix

to answer ur question, yes there r other programs but i consider this one of the better ones both in terms of compatibility as well as user friendliness

edit: btw there r other ways to boost performance without having to overclock :p so yea u can try other stuff too ^^

well im not pro about these things, but overclocking its not rly recommended to laptops, and evne to pc's if you dont know what u are doing... or you gonna burn it.

Pretty much what he said. I did try to overclock my laptops in the past. I burned 3 in a row =p

But then I fould out a trick: water-cooler! Use the water-cooler of a desktop for your laptop and you will be good to overclock your laptop, but bear in mind that after doing it you might have many crashes on daily base without good cooler pad ;]

ps: during summer set your laptop back to it previous settings or it will be its last summer xd
