Our GM's are undertrained

I recently got banned for run speed hacking even though I was not. I also got banned for teleporting which I did not do. This could easily be discovered if our GM's actually had any idea how to do anything besides come to conclusions on their own without any facts.

Fact: It is very simple to check if anyone is hacking. It is called coding, this is the coding that the game makes whenever my character does anything. All the GM had to do was review the coding and they would be able to see, very easily, that I was not hacking and it must have been lag which lets be honest, is quite a frequent occurrence on this server. I am sure I am not the only one who has been pvping and has seen people seemingly teleport all over the map, including through the ground and falling to their deaths. So logically speaking of course it is not at all possible that someone who was accused of teleporting could not have been experiencing any of these said problems. Again, all you have to do is look at the coding and you could have easily seen that I was in fact not hacking. Of course that would be logical and considerate, and why would a GM ever do that? After all they are unpaid, untrained, and lacking in any programming skills whatsoever for the most part. That is nothing against the GM's themselves, merely the people who enlist them for help with the server.

As far as my supposed "run speed hack" that I was using I was running almost the exact same speed as the gladiator I was chasing, perhaps a little bit faster but even with that I could not catch him. Yes I said it, I was indeed running faster. I was running faster because I have the title "Key Master" Which gives you an extra 5% run speed increase. Along with ABG boots which I am sure the glad I was chasing had of equal run speed value to. Again, it would have been extremely difficult to see that I was not hacking, you could have followed any other char in the game who also had run speed boots and a run speed title and seen that they too traveled at the same speed that I did.

I do not hold it against the GM's, I know now that they do not actually do anything in the game besides make uneducated guesses about who is hacking and who is not. I hold it against the people who decided that all you need to do to be a GM is have an understanding of the game, and not anything to do with computers.

As a final note, I invested more than $400.00 USD into that game, a game which I might add I was quitting anyways on the 15th when Old Republic launches. Can you imagine me being stupid enough to hack and lose more than 400 dollars in donations? Well you do not know me, and in all fairness I was stupid enough to spend more than 400 dollars in donations in the first place so that may have been an unfair argument.

Regardless, in our judicial system in order to incriminate anyone for a crime that would rob them of their life, liberty, or constitutional rights you must have proof beyond a reasonable doubt that they in fact did the crime, as in more than a 95% certainty. Now while this may be a bit of an extreme comparison, is it not a bit judgmental to instantly slam the ban hammer on someone before you actually do any digging to see if they were in fact hacking?

I am grateful for the GM who banned me for at least looking over the video again, even though in my idea it does not prove anything since I was running at an acceptable speed. I am still not sure why it looked like I teleported on that one part of the video where I jumped off of the hill and I understand their conclusion as to think I was hacking. I just have to question their capability of truly running a fair system when they will not delve deeper into the details to see if a person really was hacking, its not like it would take much effort to do so.

I appreciate your time in reading this, and while I am probably SOL as far as the ban hammer goes, hopefully some GM with a lick of sense will read this and perhaps take it to heart for future bans.

Also, as a last note here is the video that was submitted. Again, I don't hold it against them for their decision, it does look as if I teleported on that hill, it is just that it could have easily been proven that I was not hacking if the GM's had either known, or cared enough to do so.

this proof clearly shows not only are you moving at a speed beyond normal paramaters without use of Charge, but you jump from 9-15m at one point. That's not legitimate movement.[/TD]

I watched the video, he has the Key-Master title which is a 5% movement speed increase, and the skip isn't a hack. The AMT who filmed this clearly doesn't understand how Gamez works, unban this man.

Well, sadly I cannot look into the game codex without committing a federal offense so I will not be able to provide any more evidence. A GM, or at the very least the programmer/s who run the server would be able to. but I doubt they ever will.

 

Well a GM can't look into said codex I believe only HAM+ can.

 

I suspected that they wouldn't be able to, and that it would be far to much trouble to prove my innocence to ask someone else to look into it.

 

Error 1.) Don't take it to the forums, if you were miss banned take it through the correctly channels, I believe it's commonly called a PM.

Lets get something strait right now, there is a major different between lag, and speed hacks. Let me elaborate.
1.) Running speed hack, You will move faster than a character is aloud to.
Lag, You will keep teleporting back a step or two, moving no faster than the normal speed.
2.) Attack speed hack, You will attack faster than a character is aloud to.
Lag, You will attack at the same speed, it will just respond slower.

Also while I'm here, insulting the GM's will not help you get unbanned if anything, it will get your forum account and possibly your IP banned, be warned.

This is kind of out of order dude, how can you presume to know if they are good on a computer or not, you can't.

400 USD? What a shame you have lost it all, and by the way your talking, is serves you right, learn manners.

Now after all that, and looking at the video, I fail to see where a hack is used, as far as I can tell there is a slight bit of ping delay between your character and the game server, this is something no one could solve, and if this is the only thing your banned, I fail to see the justice in that myself, may you prevail soldier.

Assuming this guy did speed hack and/or teleport hack, don't you think he'd be running faster than 9.7, and teleport further than 6 meters?

 

If this is some attempt at an impromptu appeal i suggest you re-read the procedure for ban appeals. You are welcome to PM a HGM or Admin if you feel this ban is unjustified. Closed.
