Like the title mention, which would be the preferred weapon to use for a gladiator, if you are having 300ms ping during gameplay?

Please explain and elaborate why. Thanks!

You should use Gs because have lower atk speed and that it's better for your ping you will need woc 2 for polearm because the atk speed will be high .. but woc 1 for gs is perfect

Polearms are generally used to burst a vulnerable/squishy enemy as fast as possible while greatswords are optimal for prolonged melee battles. It is good to have both, but the greatsword is more well-rounded.

Woc1 for Greatsword, Woc2 for Polearm. And if your gladiator is female go for polearm, they say female characters hits faster with polearm. Greatsword has a consistent Crit damage while polearm has a random crit. Hope this helps. :))

    1. As of what i know, "Attack Speed" is how fast the animation of the skill is being applied (correct me if i am wrong). What i would like to know is when comparing the skill animation between Polearm and Greatsword, which one of them have more animation in general?

    2. On top of that, if Wings of Circle level 2 is available for both options, which will be a better weapon to use?

    Polearm
Pros - More Damage (100+), More Strikes in weaving / normal attacks (4strikes), More Critical (40).
Cons - Slower Attak Speed, Lesser Accuracy, Lesser Parry.

    Greatsword
Pros - Faster Attack Speed (0.4), More Accuracy (50), More Parry (40).
Cons - Lesser Damage, Lesser Strikes per hit, Less Critical.

Thanks! PVP in Gamez are usually zergy so perhaps polearm might be more suitable in that sense?

*sad face* Not everyone is that fortunate to have low ping and well i am trying to find out more about gladiator for my friend since that's the class he is keen on playing.

That's your opinion. But thanks anyways for your comments.

It's true that Male and Female characters have different animation when using certain skills. But i do quite sure the "Attack Speed" itself doesn't change, just perhaps they have a short animation on those skills. Oh sorry i had forgotten to mention the gladiator is a Male. Thus i would still like to know your opinions on which weapon would be best suitable for a Male Gladiator.

The GreatSword has a more stable dmg output and the crit diff can be easily supplied via stones.
The Polearm can do a lot of dmg or little, is too RNG dependent, You need more stones to supply the lack of accuracy.

In any case, it is up to the user.

go for damage instead of attack speed. you can't win someone with low ping in terms of the amount of attacks. just hit do those hit and run lols with spear.

This debate existed ever since the start of AION. Like many mentioned, each weapon have their strengths and weaknesses. Most notably is Greatsword's consistant damage output in comparion to Polearm's RNG damage output. Attack speed doesn't make as much difference considering you're playing at 300ms. Due to this factor, the burst factor from Polearm could be your saving grace.

Grrr's guide has his point from a lower ping perspective, which makes his Greatsword point valid. The stat difference these days is non factor as Arbiter Weapon alone already covers the Accuracy/Crit differences

    Thanks for your suggestion.

You got a point there. Thanks.

Oh okies, thanks for the link, will look on it.

Using Arbiter weapon as a fuse? Oh my, that's an expensive option in my opinion. But still thanks for breaking down the details. It should be easier for any gladiator out there to decide which weapon they would prefer i guess. *smiles* ;)

    Hahas!
