Powerleveling gathering skill

Hi, i have looked up on several leveling gathering guides and a lot of them point to Hoe gathering for the best gathering XP. Is this still relevant or has changes been made? I'm looking to progress my gathering to guru 50, and wondering what is the best method atm?

 

Indeed, around Trent would be the best spot. You may also use a shovel to gather on the desert, but gathering herbs will be more 'profitable'.

 

Thanks for the table, that helps a lot! Also i already have 1 auto gather hedgehog, do you think investing in 3 more would be beneficial to my XP gains? I'm still wondering if its worth getting a full team of them.

Also i guess now i should invest in a Hoe tool

 

You may have as many auto gather hedgehog as you want, because they don't share the cooldown to gather.
The best combination would be 4 auto gather hedgehog and 1 increase material hedgehog, or 3 auto and 2 increase.

 

About herbs around Behr, is it intended that after a few rotations, only half of it respawn in a short time, then the rest a few minutes later?

Did not gathered a lot there because of this, very annoying (+ always hedgehogs afkers <= 49 on every servers...)
