A Code 43 error in Windows means:

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

This is a generic error indicating that the hardware or its driver told Windows something went wrong, so Windows disabled the device to prevent further issues.

    Common causes of Code 43
    1. Driver issues (most common)
      • Corrupted or outdated drivers.

      • Incorrect driver installation.

      • Driver conflicts after a Windows update.
    2. Hardware failure
      • The device itself may be defective.

      • Common with graphics cards, USB devices, Wi-Fi adapters, and external drives.
    3. Loose or faulty connection
      • USB cable or port is damaged.

      • Internal PCIe card is not seated properly.
    4. Power issues
      • Insufficient power from the USB port.

      • Faulty power supply for internal components.
    5. Firmware or BIOS issues
      • Outdated BIOS or device firmware.

      • Compatibility problems.
    6. Overheating
      • Especially common with GPUs.

      • Excessive heat can cause the device to shut down.
    7. Windows system corruption
      • Damaged system files affecting hardware communication.
    How to fix it
    1. Restart your PC
    Sometimes Code 43 is temporary.

    2. Reconnect the device
    • Unplug and reconnect it.

    • Try a different USB port (if it's USB).

    • Avoid USB hubs.
    3. Reinstall the driver
    1. Open Device Manager.

    2. Right-click the device with the yellow warning icon.

    3. Select Uninstall device.

    4. Restart your PC.

    5. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
    4. Update the driver
Download the latest driver directly from the manufacturer's website rather than relying on Windows Update.

    5. Roll back the driver
If the problem started after an update:
    • Device Manager → Properties → Driver → Roll Back Driver.
    6. Run Windows Update
    Install all available updates.

    7. Check hardware
    • Test the device on another computer.

    • Try another cable.

    • If it's an internal card (GPU, Wi-Fi card), reseat it.
    8. Check for overheating
    • Clean dust from fans.

    • Monitor temperatures.

    • Ensure adequate cooling.
    9. Run system repair commands
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

    sfc /scannow

    Then:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If the device is a graphics card (GPU)
Code 43 often occurs because of:
    • Faulty GPU hardware.

    • Corrupted NVIDIA/AMD/Intel graphics driver.

    • Overclocking instability.

    • Insufficient power.

    • GPU overheating.
A clean driver installation (using a tool like Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode, then installing the latest official driver) often resolves driver-related cases.

To narrow down the cause, could you tell me:
    1. What device is showing Code 43? (Graphics card, USB device, Wi-Fi adapter, Bluetooth, etc.)

    2. What is the exact device name shown in Device Manager?

    3. Which version of Windows are you using? (Windows 10 or Windows 11)

    4. Did the problem start after an update, installing a driver, or connecting new hardware?
    Have a good day
