Hello there,

Although it would be very simple to disable the creation of characters of a certain race, that would go against our server's policy.
We want you to be able to enjoy Aion's features at their best, making your game as fun as possible. Choosing what faction/race to play in Aion is foundamental, the game wouldn't make much sense without this.
However, your concern is understandable. We are well aware of the fact that the Elyos population is bigger than the Asmodian one, that's why we incentivate the creation of Asmodian characters by giving better survey rewards to new Asmodian players.
We will try to support the creation of Asmodian toons with little non-invasive incentives, such as Asmodian specific events,buffs,spawns and features, until the amount of players on both factions is balanced again.

As for teaming issues, the asmodian population on siel is actually big enough to defeat elyos during sieges or defend their forts from their attacks, the only reason why it might seem hard to create an alliance is because of the lack of motivation, but that's not always the case.

I don't ever remember retail allowing dual race accounts so it's not that they implemented anything to stop it cause it wasn't possible in the first place. Since the game has been out you could only pick one race, and with the server merges if you ended up with a dual race account you would be asked to pick between the races and pretty much be forced to chose between the two or transfer one of the two sooner or later, at least that's what I know and heard cause I didn't end up with dual race on the server merge, all my characters were same race. The only thing that was "implemented" were general fixes and warnings to go well with the server merge dual race issue.

Now, regarding the suggestion, it's pretty stupid. Saying elyos creation should be forbidden just so the races are balanced is like saying songweaver creation should be forbidden cause there's too many songweavers. Nothing needs to be balanced. It doesn't HAVE to be balanced. That's why there's races, cause they're different, and people choose the one they like. I personally hate the asmo back hair, claws, eyes, and skintone so if someone told me "you will never be able to play elyos again and you will only be asmo" I would just quit the server and go to another one that didn't have such stupid resrtictions. Simple.

 

Specific faction creation was locked on and off for retail a few times, but they stopped doing it completely from what I'm guessing was serious backlash from the community. Their later system was to add incentives to the less populated faction to encourage more players to pick that side. Though I don't really agree with either, I also don't agree with China's Family Planning Policy, but, shit, what's there to do? For Gamez to make incentives work, they would have to lock off dual faction accounts so the other side couldn't abuse it, or make the incentives appeal strictly to new players (which would be shit because no existing players would even bother), so something to balance the population most likely isn't going to happen. My suggestion is for Gamez to say fuck Aion, and create a pro, voxel-based MMO like Trove, or Cube World, or Guild War 2's Super Adventure Box, but with PvP. People would hemorrhage money at that shit.

 

I remember that, mostly I was annoyed cause I only played elyos and on my server they gave out free XP boosts or discounts for XP boosts I don't really remember and that's what annoyed me the most cause XP boosts are all I needed since I was leveling alone and I take my time doing it with all the growth quests and instance runs... >.<

I mean that's what gamez did too, but at the same time it doesn't make much sense since like you said people can just go asmo, snatch the free rewards and then go back to elyos since dual race accounts are possible. The only thing that would stop it is locking elyos creation but who the hell is gonna do it.
