Okay so, twitter is apparently going crazy over some girl that just got kidnapped (or something along those lines)

Anyway, so lets start, girl decides to tweet that someone is breaking into her house, she may or may not have been better off calling 911 but that's not what this topic is about.


So people naturally do some digging in her twitter history and find a tweet to a guy named Samuel Guskind which may indicate he was stalking her or something.

It is very possible that he could have done it. Unfortunately, no one has any way of proving that. For all we know it was coincidence, he did absolutely nothing and she was just being a ***** to him, and he would never do anything to hurt her. We really can't have any way of knowing.

Instead of simply keeping calm, everyone is raging about how hes a suspect and SURELY hes the one that did this.

Now I'm raging because this guy who very well could've done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, is probably going to get harassed, beaten up, accused, possibly killed, all over speculation. That one tweet with his name in it, which again could've just been her being a massive ***** to him over nothing, is making people tunnel vision on him. REALLY? Suspect or not, theres a high chance that his life is going to be ruined for something he never did. His family might have to move elsewhere just to get away from this, all because of some simple ****ing speculation.

What is wrong with people? What ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? The worst part is, if it was a guy that had been kidnapped, it wouldn't be nearly as big of a deal, but ohhh its a pretty girl OH GOD WE HAVE TO DEFEND HER IMMEDIATELY, QUICK! CRUCIFY EVERYONE THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE INVOLVED.

I'm sorry, I just think this is retarded and I feel really bad for the guy who might not survive the school day tomorrow, if his parents even let him go. I sure as hell wouldn't.

Sadly, this is how a lot of people are nowadays they will always speculate. The phrase you mentioned "innocent until proven guilty" doesn't seem to exist to a lot of people anymore. I do agree with you though, this kid might very well be innocent and it could all be a coincidence, but on the flip side he could be guilty and it could not be a coincidence there really is no way to know until either he comes out as the kidnapper or the real kidnapper is found.

 

Indeed. There's absolutely no way of knowing at the moment. Obviously I would hope the police would consider it (and they will), but I really wish people would stop trying to be vigilantes. Too many people are taking it as fact right now, and if he did do it then well that's terrible, but if he didn't hes going to face public humiliation and bullying on a larger scale than many people get in a lifetime.

 

Oh no police are probably the few that will consider him innocent until he is proven otherwise I mean of course they'll have their personal opinions on the case but if they take their job seriously they won't be biased about the case. But of course if he did it then yes it is horrible like you said, and if he didn't he might face everything you said but if and once he's proven innocent everyone that did treat him they way they did will have to live what they did to this kid for the rest of their lives.

 

Ah i saw this on tumblr 5 minutes ago.

Common sense isn't so common hm? Then again that post was posted a few days before, so having an intruder breaking in wasn't expected. suprises me to see people making false assumptions and suspecting a kid simply because his full name was publicised
