Sooo, i bought an acoustic guitar , and i have it for about two weeks, i know how to play some songs, beginer chords, etc.. But i was thinking if there is somebody out there that knows some exercices to perfect my moves and to make me more natural. So if there is, post some tips here, i would really be apreciated ! :)

nope not really, in general its better to learn how to read music unless u wanna just play some song u like and thats it.

Well I suck at playing guitar I only took lessons for 1 year :p But what helps when you start is taking a beginner chord and playing it again and again, then changing to another chord and playing it 2 or 3 times, then switching to another chord and playing it a couple times too, much like a slow song with 3 standard chords until your fingers learn how to switch between them and you get to familiarize with the whole technique :p and then do the thing faster and faster until you think you can play it without missing

just try to make your fingers get used to the whole stretching you have to do with them and also practice a lot to make them hard and not soft for it cause they're gonna suffer a bit before you get used to it I guess D:

(and again, that's some advice from someone who took lessons for a year and then learnt some things on her own, but still, try these out xD) or ask Downfall for some videos I think he has a couple exercises he might give you, he's a prooooooooooooooooo

also i'm sowwee if that's too easy for you and you can do these easily, i just don't know what level you're at so yeh :3

oh and, don't bother getting to know the notes if you don't think you wanna read a melody and play it, my opinion is that you can enjoy playing the guitar even if you know some chords and not any notes, cause when you know notes you can play standard melodies but when you know some basic chords you can back up most of the songs you know and sing at the same time and such :p wouldn't sound the same if you were playing just a melody and singing, amirite?

well don't even worry about singing and playing at the same time it's early for that, but anyway it's like learning to play your first bar chords, at first you get pissed off but then when you learn how to do it your mind and hands do it on their own :p but yeah, just make sure you do the right exercises to help your fingers stretch and make them a bit hard because they're gonna start hurting any way xD good luck! ^.^

well personally i've learned playing it in 2weeks or less when i was still in my 2nd year in highschool (since it was the outreak of bands :pinched:) .
i just learned the basic chords then trying to play some songs that i wanted too .

maybe it will also help you , if you had a list of songs you want to learn .
learn them one by one though , even if some songs just use the same chords and tempo .

    til then good luck

Lol ikr when I first started I was so proud that my fingers would switch between the strings quickly and now I'm like.. seriously dimi -.-

Well I didn't give up in general, I just stopped my lessons cause I hated the teacher :p I told him I wanted chords he insisted on teaching me notes so since notes were not what I wanted the lessons were REAAALLY boring to me and at the end of the year I was like "what now dimi, one year passed and all you learnt was notes, what are you gonna do now, play the titanic? -.-"

so i stopped and now some months ago I started learning chords on my own :) just looking them up on google, then I also search my fave songs and I know most of the chords for them and I keep learning the ones I don't know so it's kinda like.. thank god I'm on chords and not stuck on notes still :p and since i did the basics for a year my fingers were used to it so it wasn't hard to start doing chords.. but i'm still a beginner i still can't play bar chords :p but who knows, eventually i'm gonna do that too lol

playing guitar for me is like a piano only complicated, i've played for about 3 years then stopped, my acoustic guitar has never been touched again D: and my hands are so stiff now.

like Dimi said, i started with playing familiar songs over and over and over till i got really comfortable, then practiced with power cords to strengthen my grip, (it's different by the way playing power chords with acoustic against electric, cause acoustic makes more emphasized sound). then after i have familiarized my way through all the chords i practiced with notes... it wasn't hard for me cause i know piano.

    i agree .
makes the learning of notes more easier if you have a musical background .

or atleast some knowledge with another instrument

my sister and I played a lot together, she plays piano, i with the guitar. when she moved to canada, i stopped playing.

i somehow looked at guitar as a piano with 6 layers... weird but true.
