I was thinking about this recently.

With all the events going on, are the GMs themselves getting anything for hosting/participating in these events? I'd heard prior that GMs don't really get anything for doing so, and it honestly doesn't seem very fair.

    What I'd like to suggest?

GMs get the same items as their side gets for hosting events (Example, GM A and GM B go to an event. We know GM A and GM B have legitimate characters they like to play on. GM A's character is an Asmodian, and GM B's character is an Elyos. Asmodians win an event, therefore GM A gets the winning reward, and GM B's character gets the reward for participating.)

Hmmm honestly i dont really mind. It's fun for me hosting events for players, and i dont even go on my normal character much anymore. But i wouldnt mind my normal character getting the rewards as well ^^ Maybe some GM's that go on their normal characters a lot would enjoy this.

I think incentive for participation and being active within the community is always a good thing, its also a good way for players to form relationships, fuel rivalries, what-have-you.

I think the main thing to consider is that this benefits the server in several ways, with no downsides to it.

Giving GMs prizes will just cause them to get entrenched in their side...you want impartial GMs more than anything...

I understand your point Cake, and I took that into consideration.

Could also be a way to have just someone at HGM or better status to reward event items and make sure that GMs are impartial. Of course, whole thing is honestly open to suggestions though.

    Unfair to past gms! -kidding-

You're right, there is little incentive for GMs to do things, but being a GM I think means accepting that your doing it for free anyways, not because you get anything out if it in game, but just that self-satisfaction that you made some peoples day. I think that's reward enough ^^
