well i played the last beta till lvl 30 and i can recognize more than half of those bosses , so they just took out some BAMS and added a scorched obsidian-like texture to them and force you to zerg for minor rewards.Nice...

 

Minor rewards? lololol. The Nexus reputation points can be exchanged for tier 13 pvp gears, mounts, high level enchanting powders ( for +12), green crystals, etc. The Nexus will be the source of pvp gears while they renovate the battlegrounds for western players.

I read a few reviews after reading what was on the Tera official page and just never got a feel for it, especially the storyline. I haven't tried it, but it felt like it was a lot more for Pve players than pvp. Where in Aion it was all about pvp, so I stuck to that. =)

All the tera skills are ripped from WOW lol- what made them "unique" is the target system- which has limitations. I do can see shooter game players liking this game for that aspect a lone.

Yes, I for one not fond of wow's graphics, but everything else is great- no game has been wow killer.
Which is why I think tera copied many of skills on wow- an attempt to play it over wow; let see if it works.

Honestly like any games people have their own preference, you really need to just play the game if you will like it over aion- it stupid to just play game because handful says they like it. It has to be your decision =)

I felt the same way too before trying the game. I did join an organized pvp guild and it made all my doubts go away. It will ultimately depend on your decision if you really want to pvp or pve in this game. If you are a pvp'er, you will be doing battlegrounds/ open world pvp. If you are a pve hero, you will be farming dungeons all day long. TERA caters both pvp/pve players. That is why currently, there are 3 pvp servers and 5 pve servers to choose from. I am playing in Valley of Titans which is the most populated pvp server and you will find pvp there 24/7. =)

I pick... aion without hackers. Oh, thats not gonna happen.

I dont like games where I have to aim. Lag wont let people aim. So anyone with bad ping will be FUBAR.

I can't really agree with this myself. I feel like Aion's skills are actually much more similar to WoW's skills. The difference is the high skill cooldown vs. low global cooldown/chaining system of Aion, but a lot of the skills can be quite similar.

Either way though, it all comes down to opinion. Some people will naturally like Aion more than Tera, some people will naturally like Tera more than Aion, and contrary to popular belief I appreciate individuality and people making decisions for themselves on whether or not they want to play a game. Its their decision, their money, so they get to decide.

Unfortunately, I really dislike it when certain people bash a game and try to get other people not to play it because they feel like its bad, when they have not even tried it properly. (not referring to you lafitness, just for clarification)

I've been following Touch Fluffy Tail/Thin Fried Tofu, Aphotic, No Fun Allowed and...Dragongod somethingsomething? I'm on the PvE-RP server, but I've been seeing the Guild vs. Guild screenshots and it looks really epic scale and fun, I almost wish I was on Valley of the Titans so I could participate in some of it.

EDIT: On a related note, I don't think our server has GvG features enabled yet, but I'm sure when it does we're going to be thrust into a war right off the bat. Theres quite a few guilds who apparently feel intimidated by us. Its unfortunate, we've been trying to be nice to all those we've come across, though it may be fun if it does turn into GvG down the road.

 

well for me. i find tera is great... u cant say it is a bad game. take some time to play for a month and then decide.. well i feel boring in aion before and then it changed...

Uhm honestly tera graphics don't look at all like wow, aion ones do much more, meaning cartoonish-style (never liked wow graphics cause too cartoonish). Tera graphics are very realistic apart from things like Elins, just look at Velika...it looks like being in a real city, brick by brick, I'm always astonished when I enter it and I have to play with low graphics...

i Think ARCHEAGE now the most detailed game ever made. about Tera & Aion. TERA is boring. Aion is more fun.

 

Staying with Aion, nothing wrong with Tera but I don't want to re-learn the foundations of another MMO game. I'll be coming to a point of quitting MMOs as a whole eventually too. Got to focus on career interests that absolutely need 120% of my focus (movie/animation directing). I'm not 15 anymore. Got to move on.
